Role and Responsibilities:

Operational Management

  • This role will work across multiple business units such as Global Retirement – Asia, US and Canada which is 6 FTEs in Manila, 2 FTEs for WAM Retail Incentive Compensation and North American Pricing team composed of 6 FTE in Manila and 4 FTE in Cebu.
  • Manage the teams’ day to day operations promoting efficiency and team effectiveness.  Allocate and delegate tasks to team members and manage the task monitoring system used for regular business review reporting.    
  • Ensure SLA achievement through quality control, capacity management, operational excellence and team enablement.
  • Provide key decision support to the key business stakeholders through availability of relevant financial information, providing detailed analysis and recommending appropriate action plan.
  • Take the lead role in resolving critical issues raised during operations meetings and proactively manages and monitors control efficacy to ensure potential risk is minimized.
  • Effectively communicate significant production updates and challenges to management as well as to the business unit in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with the Global Stakeholders and teammates to ensure a smooth reporting and assisting in ad hoc requests as needed.

People Management

  • Drives the team in achieving its organizational goals and objectives.
  • People management responsibilities include hiring, compensation strategy, promotion, performance management, and capability development of direct reports and their teams
  • Performs the People Manager role for performance management, professional growth and development of staff.
  • Strategizes in terms of the direction and identification of opportunities for team growth and development.
  • Leads the regular business reviews and produces dashboards and metrics reports detailing the team’s performance, challenges and areas for improvement.

Project/Initiatives Lead

  • Act as the project manager who will oversee the BU initiatives, implementation and tracking of any short-term or streamlining and automation
  • Support and deliver on key transformation strategies of the group, as a priority, which includes strategic reviews on existing processes and submission of business cases for prioritization in the change agenda.
  • Improve and re-engineer reporting processes and deliverables to create consistency and efficiency during month-end and quarter-end cycles
  • Initiate improvements by exploring, identifying, and implementing reporting, analysis, and process solutions

Qualifications

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies/Education:

  • University graduate in Accounting/Finance, professional accounting designation (CPA or CMA) or advanced degree is an advantage
  • 5+ years of progressive responsibility within accounting/finance
  • At least 3+ years of people management and with strong leadership experience
  • Experience with Migrating tasks from onshore location to Manila is a plus
  • Experience working with senior management teams (stakeholder management requiring persuasion / influencing skills
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Strong technical accounting, financial and management reporting, analysis skills with a solid understanding of the business environment of Wealth Asset Management - Retirement and Retail
  • Good communication and presentation skills; ability to succinctly engage with business partners and team members
  • Power BI knowledge is a plus, but not required
  • Knowledge of IFRS tools (SmartView-Essbase, Lawson)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast paced, high-performing and collaborative team environment while managing multiple, constantly changing priorities and ad-hoc requests
  • Proactive approach to continuous improvements and a positive “can-do” attitude
  • Ability to identify and investigate complex issues and recommend actionable solutions

  • Flexible on shift and overtime may be required to meet business deadlines and cover both Asia and North America time zones (Default working shift is mid shift from 2PM to 11PM)
