  • Role Type: Permanent, Part-time
  • Department and Location: Maternity Department, Mater Hospital, North Sydney
  • Salary: 29.36 – 39.24 AUD base per hour.

About The Role:

  • The Postnatal Ward Clerk role is responsible for providing a comprehensive range of administrative duties to the Maternity Department.
  • The role is integral to the care and support of patients, relatives, visitors, doctors and hospital staff.
  • This position is the first point of contact whilst working in the postnatal department requiring excellent customer service skills, management of patient medical records and patient administration.
  • The ward clerk is responsible for the provision of high-standard customer service to all our customers and to work within the philosophy, mission and values of The Sisters of Charity & St Vincents Health Australia. 

About You:

  • Medical Terminology course or relevant experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Ability to maintain collaborative and effective relationships with all multidisciplinary team members.
  • Ability to work flexibly within the Facility service.
  • Demonstrate good initiative, communication, problem solving, planning and time management skills.

About The Mater:

In this role you will be based at the Mater hospital, North Sydney.

  • One of Sydney’s premier private hospitals.
  • Close by to train stations at North Sydney, St Leonards, and Crows Nest, and buses on Pacific Highway.
  • The only Australian hospital that is a member of the International Society of Orthopaedic Centres.
  • Core specialties include Obstetrics, Orthopaedics including hip and knee joint replacements, bone and sports injuries, cardiology, cancer care and surgery, lung and vascular medicine, ear, nose and throat surgery, urology, endocrine surgery, and neurosurgery.
