Let’s talk about this role 
As a Technical Business Analyst, you will perform systems and business analysis within a software development team focused on the delivery and support of new and existing capabilities in our core applications space.
 

This role will join a large in-house software delivery team focused on building complex policy administration and billing capabilities for our health insurance business.
 

On a regular basis you will: 

  • Receive and gather information on business needs related to a defined set of core applications and APIs 

  • Lead the discovery and definition of business and technical requirements by working with stakeholders, business partners, the product manager and other team members 

  • Perform deep technical analysis including API testing, reviewing API documentation, reading code, and running SQL queries 

  • Formulate and maintain technical specifications and user stories including detailed acceptance criteria 

  • Work with the product manager, technical architect, and developers to determine a solution for desired outcomes 

  • Maintain and prioritise the team backlog in collaboration with the product manager or product owner 

  • Act as a liaison between IT teams and departments, business teams and external vendors 

  • Coordinate QA and UAT processes 

  • Ensure solution documentation is written, maintained and communicated to stakeholders 

  • Assist the application support team in troubleshooting incidents and performing root cause analysis 

  • Facilitate agile ceremonies within or across software development squads 

  • Develop a strong understanding of core applications, business systems and processes and provide subject matter expertise

Let’s talk about you 
You will be a team player with strong technical and communication skills, enabling you to build effective and fruitful relationships within the product development team and across the business. You will be motivated by driving initiatives through to completion.
 

Additionally, you will have: 

  • 4+ years working in a software development team 

  • 3+ years of business or systems analysis experience 

  • Deep technical knowledge and experience with REST APIs, exposure to SOAP is a plus

  • Experience with complex multi-tier and microservice architectures

  • Well developed analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving skills 

  • An established understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile work practices 

  • The ability to play a senior role within the product development team – e.g. acting as subject matter expert and leading agile ceremonies 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as excellent documentation skills 

  • The ability to work autonomously and be well organised
