Position Summary

Responsible for leading a procurement team focused on value generation and best cost optimization within customer-focused sourcing and procurement activities. This role involves prioritization, scheduling and delegating work assignments of buyer team to ensure that we meet internal stakeholder and customer expectations for service levels, productivity and delivery of project requirements. This role involves supply chain management from sourcing, quoting, purchasing and supplier management.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the development, goal setting and performance management of all direct reports, as well as identifying talents within the team
  • Demonstrated ability to translate knowledge of the day-to-day purchasing operations into cross-functional strategic plans with clear critical success measures
  • Balance department workload ensuring priorities and operational objectives (KPI's) related to both internal requests and customer service requirements are achieved
  • Lead disciplined operational rhythm of procurement team to manage the supply of materials and services, while identifying and/or solving complex problems with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders
  • Support buyers to complete all initiatives of productivity, negotiations, and inflation restraint as part of strategic deployment
  • Manage suppliers to improve the cost, quality, delivery and reduce risks of interruption in the supply chain, including the maintenance of approved and preferred suppliers
  • Actively develop relationships with business units and corporate functions to improve and grow strategic partnerships
  • Must have ability to exercise ethical commercial judgement and operate in a highly visible, high-pressure environment
  • Promote a philosophy of continuous improvement of the process, through risk management support and global standard work execution
  • Establish personal growth objectives to support career development and Rockwell Automation, reporting periodic progress toward those objectives
  • Perform tasks in accordance with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards (state / federal laws, ISO 9001, ISO 14000, etc.), as well as Rockwell Automation policies and procedures, guiding and encouraging other employees about the importance of complying with such standards

  • Considerable analytical skills used in performing cost analysis, operational measures, and business case development
  • Complex problem-solving skills with the ability to develop and implement innovative solutions
  • Solid experience with contract negotiations in various commodities and countries
  • Advanced skill in building strategic relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders and suppliers
  • Demonstrated persuasion skills and the ability to gain agreement among a wide range of stakeholders
  • Successfully lead multi-disciplined projects with minimal amount of supervision
  • Experience presenting complex ideas to management in a simplified manner
  • Self-driven collaborator with customer service focus
  • Proactive to learn company policies and procedures to perform the tasks of their work routine, in an organized manner, with high level of quality and punctuality
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross functional and multi-cultural and dispersed teams

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent post-secondary degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration or Engineering or related field preferred.
  • MBA desirable in Supply Chain, Procurement, or related areas

Experience

  • At least 5 years of related experience in strategic procurement & sourcing, project management, operations and/or customer service working with complex commercial issues across multiple commodity types
  • Prefer minimum of 2 years management experience
  • MS Office 365 package Domain, focus on MS-Excel and PowerBI
  • Demonstrated excellent understanding of procurement principles and SAP processes
  • Six Sigma Green Belt training desirable
  • Mandatory Fluency in English with advanced written and communication skills
  • Spanish desirable
