Job Summary
Synechron seeks a detail-oriented and experienced NI WAY 4 Testing Specialist to lead and execute testing activities for Way4 modules within our payment systems portfolio. This role is essential in ensuring the robustness, accuracy, and compliance of key modules such as Cards, Accounts, Authorization, Clearing, and Settlement. The ideal candidate will develop comprehensive testing strategies, identify dependencies, and validate integration points to deliver reliable, high-quality payment solutions that meet organizational and regulatory standards.
Software Requirements
Required Skills:
Proficiency in preparing test strategy, test plans, and test scenarios specifically for Way4 modules (Cards, Accounts, Authorization, Clearing, Settlement, etc.)
Experience in validating payment transaction flows including POS, ATM, e-commerce, and card lifecycle management (activation, renewal, blocking)
Ability to identify and document dependencies and interface points with external systems (CMS, Switch, Host systems)
Familiarity with testing tools and frameworks used in banking/payment environments (e.g., LoadRunner, SOAPUI, Postman)
Strong analytical skills to evaluate fee calculation, loyalty programs, limits, and integration with core banking and fraud monitoring systems
Preferred Skills:
Exposure to automation testing tools and scripting for test case creation and execution
Knowledge of payment standards (EMV, PCI DSS) and regulatory requirements
Experience with performance/load testing and stress testing for payment systems
Overall Responsibilities
Develop comprehensive test strategy, plan, and detailed test scenarios for Way4 modules and related interfaces
Validate functional flows including card issuance, lifecycle management, transaction processes, fee calculations, and loyalty programs
Test dependencies and integration points with external systems such as CMS, switches, and core banking systems
Execute manual and automated testing to identify defects and ensure system stability and security
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts, developers, and operations to ensure coverage and issue resolution
Conduct defect tracking, trend analysis, and provide reports on testing status, risks, and issues
Support the setup of testing environments, test data preparation, and validation activities
Incorporate industry best practices, compliance standards, and continuous improvement initiatives into testing processes
Document test cases, defect reports, and test results; maintain traceability and quality documentation
Continually evaluate new testing tools and methodologies to enhance testing efficiency and coverage

Testing & Validation Tools:
Essential: LoadRunner, SOAPUI, Postman, manual testing techniques
Preferred: Automation testing frameworks, scripting languages for test automation (e.g., Java, Python)
Payment & Interface Knowledge:
Essential: Payment card lifecycle management, transaction flows, fee and limit validation
Preferred: EMV, PCI DSS standards, and interface testing with Switch, CMS, Host systems
Development & Scripting:
Essential: Basic scripting for test automation and data setup
Preferred: Automation scripting in Java, Python, or Shell

Minimum of 5+ years hands-on experience in testing payment processing systems, especially Way4 modules
Proven record of executing end-to-end testing in banking or financial services platforms
Experience in validating transaction processing, interfaces, and compliance requirements
Strong background in defect management, trend analysis, and validation protocols
Familiarity with automation in banking payment systems is a plus; alternative experience in complex enterprise applications acceptable
Day-to-Day Activities
Develop and review detailed test cases, scripts, and strategies based on functional and integration requirements
Execute test plans for Way4 modules and interfaces, collaborating with technical and business teams
Validate payment workflows, transaction authorizations, card lifecycle, and settlement processes
Identify, log, and track defects, providing clear documentation and defect reports
Conduct regression testing and ensure resolution of issues before deployment
Support test environment setup and data preparation activities
Periodically conduct performance testing and validate security compliance standards
Provide regular status updates on testing progress, risks, and issues to project stakeholders
Continuously improve test strategies, tools, and processes for optimal coverage and efficiency
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Proven experience working in payment systems testing, especially with Way4 modules
Industry certifications in testing (e.g., ISTQB Foundation or Advanced) are desirable
Hands-on experience with interface testing, banking standards, and regulatory compliance
