As the Senior Human Resources Business Partner, you will play a crucial role in ensuring an excellent employee experience and driving our HR initiatives. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with and HR team within an international organization, contributing to some of the world's most iconic construction projects.

This position is based from our project offices in downtown Vancouver, BC.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Talent Acquisition:

  • Manage the full recruitment process, from job profiling and candidate sourcing to interview coordination, selection, and onboarding.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to assess staffing needs, define skill requirements, and align recruitment efforts with project timelines.
  • Utilize advanced sourcing techniques, including ACCIONA tools, industry networks, and partnerships with external stakeholders to identify and engage potential candidates.
  • Conduct thorough interviews and assessments to ensure candidates are well-qualified and culturally aligned.
  • Build and maintain a proactive talent pipeline for critical roles to address future staffing needs efficiently.

Employee Engagement and Performance Management:

  • Drive company programs related to performance management, ensuring that employees are supported in their development and that performance expectations are clear and achievable.
  • Proactively communicate with employees and managers to address concerns, provide feedback, and foster a positive work environment.
  • Manage training programs, maintaining detailed training records to ensure compliance and track employee progress.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to managers on sensitive issues.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Build strong partnerships with project leaders, hiring managers, and cross-functional teams to understand project objectives and workforce requirements.
  • Provide strategic guidance on workforce planning, talent development, and employee retention to align with project goals.

Compliance and HR Operations:

  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to design, implement, and manage HR programs, policies, and procedures, ensuring they meet organizational and project needs.

HR Administration:

  • Maintain accurate employee files, records, and documentation, including training records and performance evaluations.
  • Participate in HR audits and manage immigration cases for employees as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support HR operations and project success.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Degree or diploma in Human Resources or a related field preferred
  • Proven experience as an HR Business Partner / Generalist with a focus on recruitment and employee relations, in the construction or infrastructure industry is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic construction environment.
  • Familiarity with local labor laws and regulations.

The expected compensation range for this position is between $100k - $110k CAD, based on a full-time schedule. Your confirmed job-related skills, experience and qualifications will be considered in setting your actual starting salary.
