Our Statistics team in India is an integral part of our global network, collaborating seamlessly with colleagues in the EU and US to achieve all global Biostatistics objectives. We are currently recruiting talented individuals to support projects across various business units. In this role, you will drive statistical strategies for clinical trials and offer strategic insights into clinical development plans, from the selection of promising candidate compounds through to late-phase drug development. Our team is committed to employing novel clinical trial designs and innovative statistical methodologies, including Bayesian techniques, to quantify risk across an entire program and enable smart decision making on where to invest to improve the probability of study and program success.

Job Description:

Accountability:

  • Single point accountabilities and decision-making for your individual role should be agreed with your manager and captured in your MyPlan and Workday.

Technical Expertise, Scientific Leadership and Strategy:

  • Solid understanding of design of experiments and application of advanced methodologies (e.g. Bayesian Methodologies, Futility and Predictive Inference, Estimands, Missing Data etc.)
  • Applies more complex design and analysis. 
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of GSK and industry standards.
  • Preforms Study Lead Statistician) role independently.
  • Provides statistical contributions to protocol and authors analyses plan with ability to actively participate in project/study team meetings.
  • Shares learnings with peers and contributes at internal technical discussions/forums.
  • Maintains awareness of current statistical literature and researches new techniques
  • Keeps aware and ability to lead / drive departmental strategies & initiatives (with supervision)
  • May support/delegated project statistician level activities (under supervision)

  • Applies novel techniques to improve study design, analytical approach and/or decision making; shares knowledge with peers and actively influences to implement techniques.
  • Develops enterprise thinking (e.g. analytical thinking and solutions beyond study-level)"

  • Ensures After Action review (AAR) recommendations are implemented.

Communication and Influence:

  • Demonstrates effective communication to all stakeholders on project deliverables.
  • Works closely with other Biostatistics leaders (within function) for project management activities (e.g. discuss project/resource sharing, update project tracking documents, enhance QC/QA process)"

Collaboration and Matrix-Working:

  • Represents function and/or GSK as part of a team at external organisations.
  • Begins to contribute to internal and external collaborations.
  • Begins to develop networking skills with external partners and key opinion leaders/experts.
  • Support and integrate culture across R&D

Leadership and People Development:

  • May take on or support key role on local non-project initiatives and leads initiatives to ensure successful deliver of objectives.
  • Participate in recruitment activities (under supervision)"

Basic Education (indicative of entry level, not mandated for career progression):

  • Has theoretical and practical knowledge typical of at least MSc in Statistics and/or a combination of education and experience.​
