Primary responsibilities/essential functions:  

  • Tactical focus: Works with a variety of internal and external stakeholder groups across multiple teams (e.g., investment group, sales, etc.) to evaluate, construct, and maintain portfolio structures, index and custom benchmark maintenance, calculate and deliver portfolio and manager level investment results, and provide advanced analytics and attribution analyses.  

  • Designs, develops, and interprets analytical/statistical models and forecasts to support investment and sales and marketing activities 

  • Researches, analyzes, and resolves discrepancies impacting results with internal operational teams 

  • Performs results, statistical, and portfolio analysis 

  • Develops and provides analysis of portfolio results, including hypothetical/paper portfolio results 

  • Designs and develops forecasting tools and statistical models that directly support the investment and distribution decision-making processes 

  • Creates a narrative out of data, asking the right questions to ensure understanding of underlying needs, and supporting visualization in a way that can be communicated effectively with multiple stakeholders and is actionable 

  • Manages complex enterprise projects and initiatives and leads in creation of new processes and practices and resolve cross-group business issues with solid understanding of how the projects impact the organization  

  • Builds relationships and establishes frequent correspondence with internal departments (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Investment Groups, IT, Investment Operations), balancing stakeholder expectations  

  • Oversees relationships with outsourced providers to ensure agreed-upon SLAs (Service Level Agreements) over business-critical systems and applications are adhered to  

  • Product owner of CMPS 

  • Performs quality checks and verifies the accuracy of work prepared by other associates 

  • Provides leadership and mentorship  

  • Provides direction to other associates and assists them in completing their assignments 

  • Participates in the training and development of other associates 

  • Defines and develops quality assurance checks and risk controls; oversees the accuracy of work prepared by other associates 

  • Develops policy guidelines and best practices at the functional level, coordinating and implementing newly developed policies, processes, and procedures  

  • Performs additional responsibilities, as assigned 

 

  • Domain Knowledge Focus: Serves as a subject matter expert for functional areas of the business and one or more internal and external industry applications to evaluate, construct, and maintain benchmarks and to calculate and provide investment results and analytics. 

  • Provide critical support for Institutional Clients that require high-touch, white-glove service from subject matter experts 

  • Participate in Investment Group Reviews and Portfolio Oversight:  

  • Participates in regular portfolio reviews with the Investment Group – requires the ability to present results and attribution to our Investment Group professionals, with special focus on Attribution 

  • Applies critical thinking to anticipate strategic questions that our Investment Group professionals will ask  

  • Applies analytical and problem-solving skills to “deep dive” into questions 

  • Researches current and historical portfolios using advanced attribution analysis, investment style analysis and other techniques, as necessary 

  • Serves as a subject matter expert for one or more internal and external industry applications 

  • Leads application evaluation, requirements, and acceptance criteria 

  • Keeps abreast of applicable compliance rules and regulations, ensures that controls are in place and data is reported accurately and in accordance with various compliance standards 

  • Keeps abreast of current and possible future internal and external trends, industry best practices, technology, and potential impact on established procedures 

 

  • Consultative / Business Acumen Focus: Serves as a subject matter expert to partner and collaborate with investment and distribution associates to evaluate, formulate, and provide investment results and quantitative analytics to internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Performs results, statistical, and portfolio analysis 

  • Works closely with investment and distribution associates to determine analytical requirements 

  • Provides investment results and quantitative analytics internally and externally 

  • Delivers and communicates investment results and analytics to internal departments and external entities 

  • Answers questions and acts as a point of contact internally and externally for complex issues

  • Demonstrates expert knowledge of industry applications  

  • Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of key performance measurement, risk and attribution concepts and ability to apply it to work assignments 

  • Develops strong business relationships and trust with internal and external stakeholders through consistent, accurate, and reliable  

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with a focus on being able to confidently stand behind analysis when presenting to the Investment Group stakeholders 

  • Strong collaboration skills, working within and across teams and stakeholder groups to communicate investment results and resolve issues 

  • Demonstrates intellectual curiosity and analytical skills in areas of high complexity  

  • Demonstrates ability to lead and manage projects across multiple teams or groups 

  • Ability to work in ambiguous situations, create clarity, and drive towards effective outcomes 

  • Ability to identify process improvement and lead Continuous Improvement efforts with a focus on scaling operations 

  • Demonstrates expert knowledge with data visualization tools; SQL, Alteryx, TOAD, Excel, Python plus 

  • Strong project management skills; PMP or ScrumMaster a plus in some results areas  

  • CFA certification. CIPM certifications and/or MBA a plus 

  • Contribute to department-wide initiatives that facilitate Investment Operation’s Mission and Vision: Scale Operations, Innovate, Operate Smartly, and Focus on Talent 

  • Train and onboard new associates on the team on Capital Knowledge, performance measurement and attribution concepts

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
