Department: Transportation Operations

Location: Lakeland Transportation

Shift:    Sunday -Tuesday, 6:00 am – 6:00 pm and Wednesday, 6:00 am -3:00 pm

What you will do: 

  • The Transportation Supervisor is the key operations link between the organization, drivers/owner operators, and customers.  
  • The primary responsibility is to lead and supervise driver associates to achieve superior customer service and KPI goals. 
  • Daily execution of the operating plan, equipment utilization, safety, hours of service , and fuel efficiency 
  • Use and ensure WMS, TruckMate and PeopleNet systems are updated accurately and promptly 
  • Primary on-site supervisor to solve customer service, equipment, driver, and warehouse issues 
  • Assists the Operations Manager with developing, managing and controlling the warehouse and transportation operation 
  • Administrative functions such as billing, invoicing, and driver pay 

Our ideal candidate will have… 

  • Minimum of 1-3 years leading and supervising drivers in a truckload, LTL or parcel environment preferred 
  • High School diploma or equivalent required 
  • Ability to build credible relationships with drivers and lead in a dynamic, fast-paced, hands-on environment 
  • Ability to evaluate alternatives in order to make the best overall value decisions considering cost, customer expectations, driver needs and other factors 
  • Demonstrated analytical ability, attention to detail, and strong computer skills 
  • Ability to function in a high-stress environment and deal with a variety of issues in situations where only limited standardization exists 
  • Solid judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills 
  • Proven record of taking initiative and responsibility, both individually and as a member of a team 
  • Ability to learn and become an accomplished user in the transportation management and other systems 
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in a professional manner

  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • Lean Six Sigma and/or continuous improvement training and experience
