Job Description

About the role: 
The Global Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Program Manager reports directly to the Head Global Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.  

In this role you will adapt, deliver and scale global DE&I programs that use digital tools, data and artificial intelligence to increase inclusion, measure impact and inform strategic decisions. 

Working closely with HR Business Partner teams, HR Centres of Excellence and Innovation and business leaders, and partnering with digital & technology teams this role translates DE&I strategy into practical, accessible measurable programs across regions, functions, and employee populations. 
 
How you will contribute: 

Program Design & Delivery: 

  • Adapt, deliver and continuously improve global DE&I program aligned to Takeda’s DE&I priorities, with a focus on digital, data and AI-enabled solutions that increase reach, consistency and impact.  

  • Build and manage technology-enabled DE&I solutions such as intranet content, program portals, agents, dashboards and automated workflows to improve accessibility, engagement and efficiency.  

  • Plan and coordinate global communications and campaigns that drive awareness and participation, ensuring cultural relevance and accessibility across regions.  

  • Support leaders and program owners through training, tools and guidance to help them use insights and apply inclusive practices in their decision-making. 

Metrics, Insights: 

  • Maintain DE&I metrics, enhance dashboards and reporting that provide clear, practical insights for leaders.  

  • Combine quantitative metrics with qualitative insight (e.g., employee experience, leader behavior change, narrative resonance) to assess real-world impact. 

  • Use qualitative and quantitative evaluation to assess program effectiveness, identify improvement opportunities and recommend scalable enhancements. 

 
Partnership: 

  • Partner closely with technology, data privacy and legal teams to ensure ethical, compliant and responsible use of DE&I data and AI-enabled solutions.  

  • Work cross-functionally with HR Business Partners, business leaders and other stakeholders to support program adoption and delivery across regions and site types 

  • Collaborate with Takeda Resource Groups (TRGs) to ensure programs are compliant, reflect diverse perspectives and respond to employee needs.  

  • Prepare program updates, insights and recommendations for senior HR and business forums. 
     

Governance: 

  • Maintain clear program governance aligned to global DE&I frameworks, policies and priorities.  

  • Manage program plans, timelines, risks, dependencies and budgets to ensure effective delivery.  

  • Support vendor selection and manage partnerships for digital, analytics and creative services that enable DE&I initiatives. 

 
 
Skills and qualifications: 

  • Significant experience (typically 6+ years) adapting and delivering global or enterprise-wide DE&I, people or organizational programs, ideally in a matrix environment. 

  • Strong program and project management capability, with a track record of leading complex initiatives across regions, functions and multiple stakeholders. 

  • Experience leveraging digital platforms, data analytics and emerging technologies (including AI) to scale programs, measure impact and inform decision-making. 

  • Practical understanding of data privacy, security and ethical considerations when working with sensitive people and demographic data. 

  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and work effectively across cultures, time zones and organizational boundaries. 

  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to create clear, inclusive content and present insights to diverse audiences. 

  • Experience managing vendors, partnerships and budgets in support of program delivery. 

  • Ability to approach DE&I program design with care, psychological safety, and respect for employee vulnerability, particularly when working with sensitive identity-related data or experiences. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (e.g. human resources, organizational development, technology, data or related discipline). 

  • DE&I, HR, program or project management certification is advantageous but not required. 

  • Strong proficiency in English language is required. 

  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
