Job Description:

The Software Technical Analyst will be responsible for supporting the Asia TAI Reinsurance application. We are looking for someone with strong business analysis skills and solid operational & vendor management experience to support the enhancement requirements, non-production and production fixes of the application. The candidate must have strong interpersonal skills, working with stakeholders and support teams across the globe.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support non-production and Production operations and fixes
  • Work with offshore support team and vendor to implement fixes and changes
  • Cater to the requirements for enhancement and changes from business
  • Participate in meetings with both onshore and offshore to ensure clarity of individual objectives, priorities, and solutions for barriers to progress
  • Participate actively in the projects and prioritization discussions with business
  • Report to and work with the TAI Senior Business Analyst on the tasks at hand
  • Coordinate work tasks with Vendor to ensure changes are delivered successfully and on time
  • Schedule may rotate between Asia, Mid or North America time - to adjust to meet with the global team and support weekend work for deployments or production requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or any related course
  • Strong experience with the following:
    • Scheduling Automation (e.g. CA, CTRL-M, CAWLA)
    • Unix and Unix Scripting
    • Relational Database (SQL / Oracle / MSSQL)
    • ETL (Informatica)
    • Reporting (Qlikview)
    • Microsoft Azure
    • Experience in operations management & vendor management, working with stakeholders and support teams across the globe.
  • Solid technical background in SQL DB, .net infrastructure, batch scheduling, MS Azure
  • Knowledge in Python is a plus
  • Knowledge and application of change & release management, ITIL4 & project management, including cost assessment
  • Familiarity with agile principles, test-driven development, continuous integration, and other approaches to accelerate the delivery of new features
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle
  • Understanding of how technology supports Manulife business strategy
  • Strong working knowledge of key aspects of role
  • Staying abreast of developments in own technical discipline and able to recognize and translate these to own working environment
  • Sees actions as a series of linked steps
