As a Surgical Services Support Technician, you will play an essential role in the patient care journey, from arrival through discharge, by safely transporting patients, cleaning and turning over operating rooms between cases, delivering specimens to the appropriate labs, and helping maintain a safe, sanitary and efficient surgical environment throughout the pavilion. The Surgical Services Support Technician oversees and safely transports patients to designated areas per nursing request. This position requires the caregiver to be able to multi-task and prioritize patient related and cleaning tasks.
The Surgical Services Support Technician maintains and controls support services equipment and supplies. Additionally, this caregiver oversees and maintains the operating room environment in an aesthetically safe and sanitary condition.
The following shifts are available:
6 a.m - 2:30 p.m.
10 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
2 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.
10:30 p.m. -- 6:30 p.m.
11 p.m. -- 7:30 a.m.
If weekend availability is required for this role, it will be built into your regular schedule. In that case, your workweek would be scheduled either Sunday through Thursday or Tuesday through Saturday.
Working holiday shifts is voluntary.
Responsibilities:
Oversee, escort and direct customers to the appropriate source for assistance.
Provide a safe environment for patients and their families through producing quality outcomes.
Assist Supervisor with daily staffing.
Monitor and document quality outcomes.
Oversee and complete patient tracking through electronic software tools.
Coordinate and maintain Uniform Room activities such as locker assignments and scrubs for all operating room personnel.
Properly handle and dispose of hazardous waste.
Comply with special cleaning requests for radioactive waste and infection control surgical cases.
Minimum qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within new hire period
One year of customer service experience and experience working in a team environment
One year of Surgical Services Support Tech I experience or two years of experience as a Lead following through with projects and managing staffing
