Dow has a full-time career opportunity as Business Process Expert (BPX) in Indirect Tax based in São Paulo, Brazil.
About you and this role - What you would do in this role
This role will focus on Indirect Taxes, but if you see yourself as innovative and have a passion to streamline and improve work processes, this may be the role for you. The role is accountable to ensure the Indirect Tax work process requirements are met in the system designs by building, testing, and implementing the appropriate solutions. Also, the BPX needs to ensure that Indirect Tax requirements from cross functional business processes are properly and accurately represented in the Indirect tax reporting solutions. This process leverages the Thomson Reuters OneSource Indirect Tax tool, Synchro, NFe and applicable LAA tax applications.
Responsibilities:
Understand the LAA work processes that trigger Indirect tax determination, like Purchasing, Planning and Order to Cash.
Understand the Indirect Tax laws of the respective countries for which the BPX/SME is accountable OR have a network of Indirect Tax specialists that can provide the appropriate level of knowledge/expertise in respect to the local Indirect tax laws.
Proficient in the technical landscape, being ECC, Reporting, Thomson Reuters Indirect Tax determination, Synchro, NFe and compliance.
Perform Work process support by resolving ServiceNow (production support) tickets (end user questions, end user problems)
Provide Technical resolution support if a support ticket requires that:
Being able to perform root cause analyses cross functionally, meaning that if a sales invoice or a vendor invoice has different taxation, the BPX/SME can determine why there is a difference.
Once the root cause has been determined create a defect with the appropriate findings on the root cause.
If the root cause is within the applicable DSS Tax applications, ie., Thomson Reuters Indirect tax determination (SABRIX), and with basic configuration this can be resolved, the BPX/SME will perform that SABRIX configuration.
Test the new configuration with applicable test scenarios
Validate, after the system changes have been migrated to production, that indeed the changes are appropriately resulting into the correct tax determination.
For more complex (SAP as well as SABRIX) system solutions, the BPX/SME will work with the global IT teams to create the functional designs and act as the local expert for the global IT team.
Facilitate education for new team members in PTP, OTC, Planning and Finance in respect to Indirect Tax
Participate in M&A or divestiture projects to provide Indirect Tax expertise.
Responsible for work process and system documentation for Indirect Tax.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Indirect Tax, Accounting or related field.
5 years of relevant experience.
Strong software skills and knowledge of SAP, Windows applications
Fluent English Skills
