: P&A Engineer Senior will be a part of Diamondback P&A group within the Production Engineering Department. This role will primarily be proposing, executing, and tracking P&A/T&A jobs across the Permian Basin. This will be a role that requires collaboration with Well Site Supervisors, various departments, and the TRRC. In this role you will have a high level of involvement with both the long term planning and the daily operations during Plug & Abandonment jobs.


 

Duties

  • Create cost estimates and AFEs for Abandonment jobs - Plug and Abandonment/Temporary Abandonment
  • Prepare internal AFE documents and Abandonment job plans.
  • Coordinate with Production Engineers, Reservoir Engineers, Geologists, and Field staff to ensure economics, wellbore potential, and historical information is accurate and accounted for prior to P&A or TA operation.
  • Design, analyze and make recommendations regarding cement designs and W3A proposals
  • Track and monitor ARO spending to ensure compliance with ARO budgets.
  • Prepare procedures and coordinate with Rig Site supervisors to ensure wellbores are plugged to TRRC standards as well as with Diamondback Energy standards.
  • Serve as SME for pipe recovery operations, fishing operations, and cement remediation best practices.

Requirements

  • Familiar with Texas Railroad Commission wellbore abandonment requirements.
  • Experience with workovers requiring pipe recovery and remedial cement jobs.
  • Ability to make decisions on the fly during jobs that take the following into consideration:   Safety, Environmental Issues, Diamondback Energy interests, and wellbore integrity
  • Self-starter requiring minimal supervision.
  • “Out of the box” idea generator.
  • Excellent communicator and team player.
  • BS in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 - 10 years industry experience in Production workover and with advanced knowledge of well design and construction fundamentals.
  • 5 years of experience working with an Operator preferably in the Permian Basin
  • Familiar with Industry Engineering software packages.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience as part of or head of a P&A/T&A program.
  • Knowledge of Wellview, Open-Invoice and SAP preferred.
