We are currently seeking an R&D Engineer to join our team of passionate innovators and engineers.

You will need to live within commuting distance to our 50 Wellington Street East, STE 400, Ontario, Toronto

You will need to be in the office 3-4 days a week.

What you will do

  • Under supervision, design, develop, modify, and verify mechanical components for medical devices.
  • With supervision, work with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing and Project Management to ensure project success.
  • Under supervision, conduct research and studies to support product design, assist with prototyping and bench testing.
  • Support problem solving, root cause analysis, identify potential solutions, and evaluate them against requirements.
  • Understand the product’s intended use and clinical procedures. Interpret customer needs and understand design inputs.
  • Understand fundamental industry standards, design requirements and test strategies which align with regulatory requirements.
  • With supervision, create or refine engineering documentation, such as the Design History file per company design control procedures.
  • Learn R&D procedures like design controls and risk management, per the Quality Management System.
  • Work on problems in limited scope; purposefully learning while gaining experience, demonstrating ownership, building relationships, and integrity of work.

What you need

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, BioMedical, or related discipline.
  • 0+ years of work experience
  • Fundamental knowledge and understanding of mechanical engineering practices and tools, design principles.
  • Basic knowledge of design and concept generation CAD or CAE modeling tools (SolidWorks preferred)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of design and concept generation CAD or CAE modeling tools (ProE, Creo or SolidWorks preferred)
  • Basic knowledge of analysis tools and statistical methods
  • Technical ability to create, read, and interpret engineering drawings and models, applying GD&T and CAE tools.  
  • Basic knowledge of materials and manufacturing methods

Travel Percentage: 10%
