Position Summary
We are seeking a part-time Professional Rater I to join the team on the Adolescent Brain and Cognitive Development (ABCD) Study at Washington University in St. Louis. The ABCD Study is a large-scale study to determine how childhood experiences interact with each other and with a child’s changing biology to affect brain development and social, behavioral, academic, health, and other outcomes.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Must be available to work throughout the summer months and all weekends, including weekends around holidays.
- Works with youth and adult participants representative of the St. Louis community.
- Interviews study participants about topics regarding culture and environment, mental and physical health, and substance use.
- Administers behavioral/cognitive/computerized tests.
- Collects and processes biological samples (hair, saliva, urine, blood) in accordance with study guidelines.
- Performs phlebotomy with training provided after hiring.
- Performs data collection and entry; maintain accurate documentation across all study databases.
- Refers participants to resources available in community and social services.
- Assists with study-related tasks (e.g., preparing study visit materials, data cleaning).
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary Range
$17.34 - $25.40 / Hourly
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
