Manager, Mechanical Testing and Machine Shop

We are looking for a Manager, Mechanical Testing and Machine Shop to join our Louisville, KY team!

As our Mechanical Testing and Machine Shop Manager you will be responsible for both departments, ensuring parts are machined and tested to customer specifications.

This is a great opportunity for an individual with some supervisory experience and a technical background, who enjoys supporting the site sales team.

Location: Louisville, KY

Salary: $80,000 - $92,000

Your Challenge

  • Manage the mechanical testing and machining departments (4 direct reports).
  • Develop machine shop and mechanical testing procedures in coordination with company standards and objectives.
  • Act as a Safety Ambassador – ensuring corporate guidelines and safety requirements are followed.
  • Prioritize and maintain work schedules based on production deadlines and ensures deadlines are met.
  • Maintain preventative maintenance schedule on machines and testing equipment.
  • Operations management – human resources, office administration, expenses, personnel management
  • Create reports for management and corporate, including metrics and KPIs
  • Make budgetary recommendations for capital expenditures and manpower for machine and mechanical testing shop areas.
  • Support the sales group, act as the technical expert for customer quotes.

What You Bring

  • At least 2-3 years of supervisory experience
  • Job shop experience
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing prioritizes
  • Mechanical testing or machining experience

Preferred:

  • CWI Certificate
