Purpose:


For Fall 2026 hiring, McCombs School of Business is looking for a Work Study Student Assistant to provide operational and customer service support for the Department of Management at the McCombs School of Business.

Department of Management provides academic and administrative services that support faculty, staff, and students.

The Student Employee will provide essential support to the Department of Management by assisting with a variety of tasks, contributing to the smooth operation of the department, and gaining valuable professional experience. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in administrative support, customer service, organization, and professional communication within a higher education setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide office support, including handling mail and maintaining office supplies.

  • Assist with departmental events, including setup, support, and cleanup.

  • Maintain clean, organized, and professional work spaces.

  • Assist faculty, staff, and students with general administrative and customer service needs.


Required Qualifications:

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

  • Must be a University of Texas at Austin student, enrolled for at least 6 credit hours.

  • Must have a current Federal Work-Study award for the Fall 2026 semester and provide verification of eligibility prior to employment.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous office, customer service, or administrative experience.

  • Experience assisting with events or campus activities.

Hourly Rate:

  • $15

Working Conditions:

  • Work performed in standard office conditions.

  • Repetitive use of keyboard at a workstation.

Schedule Work Shift:

  • 10 hours per week

  • Position ends on May 31st, 2027

  • Rehire eligible based on performance.
