Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer

At Curtiss Wright we specialize in the design, engineering and manufacturing of a wide variety of systems and components for the aerospace and defense industry. We are seeking an experienced Magnetic Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in electromagnetic theory and magnetic circuit design. The candidate should also have some experience in the design and development of Linear Variable Differential Transformers (LVDTs).

LOCATION:

Hauppauge, NY (On site)

SALARY RANGE:

$105,000 – 130,000/year

YOUR CHALLENGE:

  • Design and develop LVDTs for various applications such as aerospace, automotive, and industrial automation.

  • Work on the design and development of magnetic sensors.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful completion of projects within tight deadlines.

  • Write procedures and fill compliance matrices.

  • Familiarity with electromagnetic simulations such as ANSYS Maxwell or COMSOL and Matlab to optimize the design of LVDTs a plus.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Degree in electrical engineering or a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in magnetic design engineering.

  • Strong background in electromagnetic theory, magnetic circuit design.

  • Experience in the design and development of LVDTs, magnetic sensors.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • ANSYS Maxwell or COMSOL experience a plus.
