Job Description Summary

The Senior Product Manager for Distribution & Industrial Communications leads the strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle management for GE Vernova’s wireless and edge communications portfolio serving distribution utilities and industrial customers. This role manages a team of Product Managers, Product Owners, and interns, and is responsible for building a solutions-oriented portfolio that integrates wireless technologies, edge compute, software, and services to deliver measurable operational outcomes. The PM will drive both organic and inorganic growth initiatives, including evaluating partnerships and acquisitions that strengthen the wireless and industrial solutions portfolio.

Roles and Responsibilities

Portfolio & Solution Strategy

  • Own and lead the portfolio strategy and multi-year roadmap for wireless and edge communication solutions in the Distribution & Industrial (D&I) segments

  • Develop solution-centric offerings, integrating Private LTE/5G (Core & RAN), microwave backhaul, edge devices, and software

  • Conduct market segmentation and competitive analysis across utility, oil & gas, mining, transportation, and industrial automation sectors

  • Identify organic growth opportunities and support inorganic growth (technology partnerships, OEM alliances, and M&A assessments)

 

Product Leadership & Execution

  • Lead product lifecycle management for wireless platforms including:

    • Private LTE / PLTE Core & RAN

    • Edge devices and industrial IoT platforms

    • Microwave radio systems

  • Translate customer insights and technical requirements into prioritized roadmaps and release plans.

  • Pace Product releases to ensure they are aligned with the relevant operating rhythms for the portfolio, including multi-generation product plans, business plans, and NPI cycles.

  • Define and monitor operational results for the portfolio, including financials & market shares objectives, (orders, sales, CM), by region and market vertical.

  • Lead the development and execution of the portfolio strategy, including product lifecycle management, multigenerational product plans, market segmentation & positioning, go to market strategy and pricing; in order to acquire new customers and grow the installed base. Own list pricing for the platforms and ensure the integrity of On-Line Store entries.

  • Ensure team is authoring and presenting at conferences papers on the products and services use cases. Support Sales with in-depth product knowledge and arbitrate on technical support issues, capitalizing on team knowledge.

 

Team Leadership

  • Manage and develop Product Managers, Product Owners, and interns.

  • Establish disciplined product planning, prioritization, and go-to-market processes.

  • Drive cross-functional alignment across Technology, GSC, Commercial and Marketing.

Commercial & Customer Engagement

  • Lead product/solution launches, value propositions, and sales enablement.

  • Support global commercial teams with positioning, technical discussions, and executive-level engagements.

  • Partner with GA Marketing & Strategy to develop messaging, materials, and campaign strategies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

  • Minimum 15 years of experience of leading product management, product marketing and/or technical development, in Utility/Industrial Communication segment

  • Prior experience in the telecom industry – wireless communications required (e.g., PLTE/LTE/5G, carrier-grade wireless networks)

  • Understanding of energy and transportation sectors strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience working with global teams and customers.

Desired Characteristics

    • MBA or advanced technical degree.

    • Experience developing long-term product and portfolio strategies.

    • Proven ability to analyze markets, build business cases, and define strategic roadmaps.

    • Knowledge of industrial automation, utility communications, or mission-critical networking.

    • Schedule flexibility to work across global time zones.

    • Willingness to travel 25–50%

    • Lean process/transformation experience
