Business Development Officer – Pathology Services
Fitzroy, Melbourne | Full-Time


About the Role

We are seeking a driven and relationship-focused Business Development Officer to join St Vincent’s Pathology. In this role, you will act as the key liaison between our pathology services and a diverse client base, while identifying and securing new business opportunities.

You will work closely with hospitals, medical centres, specialists, and community providers to strengthen partnerships, grow service utilisation, and support the continued expansion of our pathology network.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients across hospitals, medical centres, and healthcare providers

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities to expand service reach

  • Act as the primary point of contact for client engagement and service support

  • Develop and implement marketing and growth strategies

  • Monitor client satisfaction and identify opportunities for service improvement

  • Support business administration and reporting activities


 The classification for this position will be HS4

About You

You are a proactive and commercially minded professional with a passion for healthcare and relationship management.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or marketing, ideally within the healthcare or pathology sector

  • Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities

  • Understanding of pathology services and laboratory processes (highly regarded)

  • Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities

  • Current National Criminal History Check (or willingness to obtain)
