Senior Specialist, AML Compliance – Santa Ana, Costa Rica

In this role, you will operate within the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) of the Global Compliance organization. As a FIU Senior Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in processing requests for information submitted by law enforcement or government entities. This includes reviewing, identifying and reporting any potential suspicious activity. 

Role Responsibilities

  • Supports the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) Subpoena Fulfillment Team particularly in Latin America.
  • Evaluates and processes formal requests for information (transaction data, agent information, etc.) submitted by law enforcement or government entities.
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders to ensure specific requested documents are provided in a timely manner.
  • Performs the more complex queries/large requests of identifiers submitted by law enforcement or government entities.
  • Communicates directly with law enforcement and, when needed, sends referrals to the FIU for further investigation. 

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Law, International Relations, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  •   2–4 years of experience in AML, KYC, financial investigations, or compliance‑related roles.
  •   Solid understanding of AML regulations, customer due diligence practices, and enhanced due diligence processes.
  •   Strong analytical skills to review customer activity, assess requests from authorities, and identify potential risks.
  •   Clear and professional communication abilities for interacting with internal teams and responding to government or law enforcement inquiries.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of requests, prioritize effectively, and meet tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Availability to work Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM
