The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the organization's payroll processing. This includes ensuring accurate and timely payroll calculations, tax reporting, and compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws. The Payroll Manager will also be responsible for maintaining payroll records, reconciling payroll accounts, and providing support to employees and management regarding payroll-related inquiries. This position will guide and perform the day-to-day workload of the department and ensure resources are devoted to the necessary priorities while driving key continuous improvement projects not only as the incumbent in this roll, but as directed by Graco senior leadership.
What You Will Do At Graco
Provides deep oversight of payroll systems, processes, policies and personnel within Graco payroll
Supports preparation of weekly, semi-monthly and off-cycle payroll by validating hours, earnings, and deductions
Performs input of employee maintenance for all payroll related data and timekeeping systems
Manages quarterly and annual reviews of payroll tax deposits including SUI, Fed, State, Local withholdings and filings W-2, 940, 941, etc
Advanced garnishment system knowledge for managing system updates and enhancements including system testing
Follows recordkeeping requirements under FLSA and IRS regulations
Serve as a resource to others in resolution of complex payroll inquiries
Works with and supports HR in resolving basic and complex employee payroll questions and issues
Educates employees and managers on payroll processes and controls.
Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities within payroll
Drive standardization of processes across the organization through identification of best practices
Support direction of the payroll team as identified by the global shared services management to include documentation of all processes and procedures
Responsible for adherence and audits for SOX compliance
Responsible for the supervision, onboarding, training, hiring, coaching of the payroll team
Take on extra responsibilities such as problem resolution as they arise
What You Will Bring To Graco
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
CPP or FPC preferred
Minimum of 5 years payroll processing experience
Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience
Advanced multi-state payroll tax knowledge
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, advanced excel skills
Strong customer service skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
