Overview

Reporting to the Director or Senior Manager of Business Intelligence, the Business Intelligence Business Analysts (BIBA) should possess a deep understanding of business operations and strategy for supported Geico business units.  The BIBA plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between our business units' needs and the technical execution of business intelligence projects. Utilizing Agile Scrum methodologies, you will ensure that our business units are equipped with the optimal data-related solutions to their challenges, facilitating the business units’ strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.

Utilizing best practices, tools, and artifacts, The BI Business Analysts helps accurately capture and document project requirements and ensures that all stakeholders understand the project's scope and objectives. 

Responsibilities

The BI Business Analysts employs a variety of best practices, tools, and artifacts to effectively gather, document, and facilitate project needs.  This includes:

  • Requirements Gathering: Collaborate closely with business units to understand their business intelligence needs, gathering and documenting precise requirements for BI projects.

  • Solution Selection: Guide business units in selecting the right data-related solutions, evaluating potential tools and technologies such as SQL, Power BI & Power Query, SharePoint, and Power Apps.

  • Requirements Interpretation: Translate business requirements into technical specifications for development by BI Analysts, ensuring clarity and feasibility.

  • Artifact Production: Generate all necessary artifacts, including user stories, process diagrams, and data flowcharts, to support project development and implementation.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Secure approvals from all required stakeholders, ensuring alignment and compliance across departments.

  • Project Support: Act as a liaison between business units and the development team, ensuring developers have the information necessary to commence and complete projects efficiently.

  • Agile Participation: Actively participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies, contributing to the continuous improvement of processes and outcomes.

Qualifications

Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment
Must be able to multi-task
Must be able to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information
Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Must have the following experience:
Relevant work experience of 5+ years (preferred)

In office Hybrid work requirement: location specific.

Annual Salary

$76,000.00 - $138,000.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
