Global Business Services (GBS) develops, maintains and implements standardized transactional processes across Bose, to be delivered from our Lisbon, Portugal Business Services Center (BSC) and supported across other Bose offices worldwide. By closely aligning with internal customers and by partnering with the BSC, GBS manages the delivery of services to achieve our internal business needs by driving efficiencies and effectiveness.
This position is being offered in a hybrid capacity (remote and onsite in Lisbon, Portugal).
Key Objectives & Accountabilities
The Payroll Specialist is part of the Bose GBS team, reporting to the Supervisor of US Payroll Operations.
The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing US and Puerto Rico payroll through using our Workday payroll system.
Main areas of responsibility
Prepare payroll system for weekly and monthly payroll processing;
Work with Time Administrators to ensure timely input and approval of hours worked and leaves in SAP;
Perform the calculation and settlement of the weekly and monthly payroll;
Compute and process time sheet data, retroactive adjustments and special payments;
Process changes related to status, taxes, deductions and leaves;
Perform process audits; identify root cause of issues and implement countermeasures;
Process bulk data loads as required;
Produce special reports as required;
Manage year end W2 related processing;
Perform application testing to support system upgrades, bonus processing, tax changes and the implementation of new functionality;
Respond to inquiries and resolve incidents as required;
Support Payroll Accounting team with reconciliations and accruals;
Identify and implement improvements to the process.
Education and Experience Requirements
Degree in Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration;
Fluency in English
Experience with payroll (preferred);
Experience as a functional super user with ERP, HR or Payroll applications;
Understanding of end to end business processes and controls;
Proven track record of driving process improvement;
Experience working with global teams and willingness to travel;
Strong proficiency with productivity tools like Microsoft Excel;
Understanding of payroll requirements, laws, and regulations for employees working in the United States is a plus.
