Job Description

What is the opportunity?

RBC Cards & Loyalty Supplier Operations is hiring for a Manager – Supplier Projects. You will join a team of managers leading, overseeing and integrating a variety of initiatives, system enhancements with our partner that manufactures, personalizes and ships all of RBC Credit and Debit cards for Canada, RBC Bank and Caribbean Banking. You will act as a key conduit and subject matter expert with PB&CB National Office partners, while focusing on driving superior operational effectiveness and client experience by representing the supplier in RBC meetings and managing supplier deliverables and timelines for project intake and delivery.   

Please note that this is an in-office role with a minimum of 4 days in office per week.

What will you do?

  • Act as subject matter expert on supplier processes, solutions, capabilities, technology, and integration with RBC systems and processes during project stage of initiatives, and during established change management processes
  • Be responsible for supporting and integrating a variety of projects including system enhancements and new products; oversees system enhancements/change activities through to completion (UAT and PIV)
  • Be accountable for the successful launch and seamless implementation and integration of supplier solutions for assigned projects and change requests – on time, on budget, and on point functionality
  • Ensure suppliers’ functions and solutions are in alignment with project goals and with relevant risk and compliance guidelines, and that solutions are efficient and effective
  • As appropriate, manage or contribute to research and analysis leading to definition of supplier requirements, to assist in the resolution of complex business problems or to assist in building solutions to new products
  • Review, signs off, or coordinate approvals on various artefacts during project stage (e.g. change requests, business requirements, test plans, risk assessments, etc.)
  • Ensure key stakeholders are kept informed through timely updates, critical path measurements, progress reports, and issues escalation
  • Identify throughout project lifecycle, new or unused supplier capabilities that could be leveraged for greater efficiency and effectiveness
  • Lead investigation and resolution of complex, high and medium impact system malfunctions or process breakdowns during project and post-project warranty stages, convening cross functional teams, establishing root cause, completing impact analysis, formulating and executing remediation strategies and completing a post-mortem review to leverage lessons learned and mitigate risk of recurrence
  • Provide support and counsel for pre-project scoping inquiries regarding assigned suppliers
  • Demonstrate a collaborative approach – exemplifies appropriate behaviors, language and actions supporting a positive and productive work environment on a consistent daily basis

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Experience working on projects, clarifying requirements and understanding technical solutions
  • Strong organizational skills, be an out of the box thinker with a growth mind-set
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast paced and changing environment
  • Canadian Banking Operations experience
  • Strong technical skills with experience using MS Excel, Word, Power Point and SharePoint
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to accurately define problems, identify relevant factors and objectively consider alternatives and the impact of possible solutions
  • Excellent analytical mindset and keen ability to execute quality documentation
  • High level of initiative, be proactive, poses motivation and ability to influence change, executing with a sense of urgency
  • Able to work in a less structured environment and handle ambiguity

  • 3rd party performance/relationship management experience
  • Invoice and Reconciliation experience
