Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services supporting the U.S. government, allied partners, and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking a Solid Waste Collection Supervisor to support a unique U.S. Navy program located on the remote island of Diego Garcia.

Job Responsibilities

The Solid Waste Collection Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily solid waste collection and disposal operations in accordance with Navy environmental standards, safety regulations, and installation requirements. Responsibilities include supervising waste collection personnel, coordinating collection routes and schedules, and ensuring proper handling, segregation, and disposal of solid waste materials.

The supervisor ensures compliance with environmental policies, landfill or disposal site procedures, and equipment safety standards. This role includes monitoring operations, conducting inspections, addressing operational issues, and enforcing safety and sanitation practices to maintain a clean and compliant installation.

Additional duties include maintaining operational logs and reports, coordinating equipment usage and maintenance, supporting inspections and audits, and providing on‑the‑job training to assigned personnel. The Solid Waste Collection Supervisor supports mission readiness and environmental stewardship in a remote, mission‑driven environment.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in solid waste collection, sanitation services, or environmental operations
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of waste collection procedures, sanitation practices, and safety requirements
  • Experience leading or supervising personnel in an operational environment
  • Ability to perform physical tasks and work in outdoor conditions
  • Must be in possession of a valid Passport and be able to travel internationally.
  • Passport should be valid for a minimum of 1 plus years at the time of hiring.
  • Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous work experience in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce.
  • Excellent organizational, time management and customer service skills.
  • Valid country driver's license
  • Country visa (as required in line with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide).
