JOB OVERVIEW:

Boku’s Business Intelligence Team is expanding, and we are looking for an experienced Data Analyst to join us. BI works directly with stakeholders to provide data-driven analysis, insights, and optimization suggestions. This role, based in Mumbai, will collaborate as part of a cross-functional team with Commercial, Technical Project Management, Operations, and Customer Success to provide best-in-class analytics.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Identify trends and opportunities for growth through analysis of complex data sets
  • Meet our stakeholder’s analytical needs by distilling data into actionable insights
  • Create best-practice analytical assets based on data mining, analysis, and visualization

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Translate analysis requests into succinct analytics briefs that are shaped in such a way that you or another analyst can successfully deliver insights
  • Take on the analysis of complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform strategic decision-making and improve business growth
  • Develop advanced data models, dashboards, and reports to track measurements and provide actionable insights 
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand and maintain focus on their analytical needs, including identifying critical metrics and KPIs, and deliver actionable insights to relevant decision-makers
  • Proactively analyze data to answer key questions from stakeholders or out of self-initiated curiosity with an eye for what drives business performance, investigating and communicating areas for improvement in efficiency and productivity
  • Partnering with stakeholders to lead metrics definition, reporting and analyses
  • Create and maintain rich interactive visualizations through data interpretation and analysis integrating various reporting components from multiple data sources
  • Partner with data engineers to establish data assets and feature stores for process automation, advanced analytics, and machine learning model
  • Manage the company’s business intelligence reporting dashboards
  • Develop presentations to share insights with partners.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4+ years experience mining data as a data analyst
  • Proven analytic skills, including mining, evaluation, analysis, and visualization
  • Technical writing experience in relevant areas, including queries, reports, and presentations
  • Excellent SQL and Excel skills with the ability to learn other analytic tools
  • Well-versed in requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to distill complex issues and analyses
  • Skilled in building and maintaining collaborative relationships with
  • Experience presenting findings and implications / recommendations to senior business stakeholders, using data to tell a compelling story
  • Experienced self-starter with a problem-solving focus, an analytical mindset, and extreme attention to detail
  • Proficient in written and spoken English in a business setting.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior experience with data warehousing concepts
  • Prior experience with data ingestion, transformation, and loading processes (ETL/ELT)
  • Proven success in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
  • Advanced SQL skills to get the data you need from a data warehouse (e.g., Redshift, Hive, SparkSQL, Athena) and perform data segmentation and aggregation from scratch
  • Experience in modern advanced analytical tools and programming languages such as Python
  • Software engineering fundamentals: version control systems (i.e. Git, Github) and workflows, and ability to write production-ready code.
  • Experience with data visualization software (preferably Tableau)
