Verition Fund Management LLC (“Verition”) is a multi-strategy, multi-manager hedge fund founded in 2008.  Verition focuses on global investment strategies including Global Credit, Global Convertible, Volatility & Capital Structure Arbitrage, Event-Driven Investing, Equity Long/Short & Capital Markets Trading, and Global Quantitative Trading.

We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our growing Treasury Technology team. 

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain applications and tools to support the trade allocation process
  • Ensure systems handle high volumes of trade data efficiently and accurately
  • Implement trade allocation rules and workflows based on client and regulatory requirements
  • Design systems for real-time or near real-time trade processing to ensure timely allocations and confirmations
  • Provide technical support for production trade allocation systems, addressing issues in real-time
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve performance bottlenecks or system failures.
  • Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
  • Document trade allocation processes and troubleshoot logs for audit purposes
  • Implement best practices for database queries and application architecture
  • Develop and execute unit tests, integration tests, and automated test scripts

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, Software Engineering, Finance, or a related field
  • Strong programming experience in Python (4–6 year) and Java (3+ years)
  • Strong experience with SQL and database systems like Oracle, PostgreSQL
  • Familiarity with database optimization and data modeling
  • Experience with real-time and batch data processing and ability to design systems for low-latency, high-throughput trading environments
  • Experience with Linux scripting language and command-line tools
  • Familiarity with Order Management Systems (OMS) and Execution Management Systems (EMS)
  • Knowledge of trading workflows (e.g., equities, fixed income, derivatives) and understanding of post-trade processes
  • Analytical and troubleshooting skills for debugging and optimizing trade allocation systems
  • Prior work experience in a financial institution, hedge fund, or trading firm is preferred

 

Salary Range
$150,000$200,000 USD
