About the role
The Staff Product Manager, Walmart Healthcare Research Institute (WHRI) is responsible for real world evidence generation and data foundations of our clinical research product suite. WHRI is a new, highly strategic growth area for Health & Wellness that enables our customers to access clinical trials and share novel insights with pharmaceutical clients and the FDA leveraging our unique data assets. You will drive the end-to-end product roadmap for real world evidence and how the underlying data assets will be organized in compliance with regulations.
About the team
Walmart is on a mission to help people live healthier lives by providing high quality, accessible, and affordable human-centered care to our associates and the communities we serve.
We believe we are uniquely positioned to positively impact the health of our customers and deliver value to B2B clients given our proximity, scale, consumer traffic in stores and online, and brand trust. Over 90% of Americans live within 10 minutes of a Walmart, with nearly 5,000 Walmart locations, 4,700 pharmacies, and 3,000 vision centers in medically-underserved areas. Our goal is for Walmart to become the preferred option for health, while creating shared value for consumers, associates, health plans, third party programs, and communities.
To support this strategy, we are building out the Product team for a new business line: Walmart Healthcare Research Institute. We are currently building a consented registry for clinical trial recruitment and real world evidence generation and are laying the foundation for deeper involvement throughout trial execution and engagement.
We are looking for the best and the brightest Product leaders who can help shape and define our product roadmap and strategy and drive agile execution. You will have an opportunity to drive impact at scale and build a platform from the ground up, backed by the stability and scalability that the Fortune 1 company can provide.
Location:
Hoboken, NJ
What you’ll get to lead…
Define the product strategy and roadmap for real world evidence generation
Define the required capabilities to collect, organize, and manage data for initiatives across the WHRI portfolio
Work alongside UX, engineering, data science, and business teams to turn loosely defined ideas into actionable deliverables
Hypothesize, build, measure, and learn to continuously inform the product direction
Execute your roadmap alongside dedicated engineering teams using Agile methods
You’ll sweep us off our feet if…
You have deep experience in clinical research. You have built products supporting the clinical trial lifecycle and real world evidence. You deeply understand the needs of patients and pharmaceutical clients, and can turn relevant regulations (e.g., 21 CFR Part 11) into product requirements.
You have built data-driven products using real world evidence. You know how to deal with clinical data from various sources (e.g., EMR, claims, pharmacy, and even retail) for purposes of clinical research and can easily translate user journeys into data requirements alongside data scientists and data engineers.
You are highly motivated by impact. You are mission-driven and are excited about joining this highly strategic area within Walmart, the largest organization that has the potential to positively disrupt the healthcare industry and drive better health outcomes for our customers.
You are obsessed with the customer – both B2B (pharma clients) and D2C (end users). You work backwards from wants and needs towards simple solutions. You use data to improve products and processes and prioritize where to focus by quantifying value to customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
You are a seasoned product owner who can run products end-to-end independently, while collaborating effectively with clinical, business, engineering, data science, UX design/research, and other stakeholders.
You are comfortable influencing others, communicating clearly, leading teams, getting buy-in from leadership, and managing stakeholders in a matrixed organization.
You are excited about solving very complex challenges at the intersection of retail and health + wellness. You have demonstrated the ability to create structure amidst ambiguity and navigate the complexities of our industry.
You are scrappy but do not sacrifice quality. You have a test-and-learn mentality and an agile way of working cross-functionally and collaboratively to improve your team’s products.
You will also receive PTO and/or PPTO that can be used for vacation, sick leave, holidays, or other purposes. The amount you receive depends on your job classification and length of employment. It will meet or exceed the requirements of paid sick leave laws, where applicable.
