Job Description

The Financial Planning Analyst is a developing professional role. Deals with most problems independently and has some latitude to solve complex problems. Integrates in-depth specialty area knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices. A strong understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the subfunction/ job family. Applies analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies. Requires attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on the analysis of factual information. Typically deals with variable issues with potentially broader business impact. Applies professional judgment when interpreting data and results. Breaks down information in a systematic and communicable manner. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information. Moderate but direct impact through close contact with the business’s core activities. Quality and timeliness of service provided will affect the effectiveness of own team and other closely related teams.

Responsibilities:

  • This non-client facing role involves developing comprehensive financial plans for Wealth Advisors and their clients.  These reports include a financial statement analysis, cash flow and income statement, balance sheet and personal financial analysis. Topics include all areas of financial planning to provide clients with a holistic approach including cash management, college planning, estate planning, investment planning, insurance/risk management and retirement planning.

  • Identify potential needs and shortfalls and collaborate with Wealth Planning Specialist team members to propose and model financial solutions to help meet the financial goals of our clients. Identify cross-sell opportunities and product solutions for Wealth Advisors and Wealth Planning Specialists based on comprehensive financial analysis.

  • Serve as an integral member of the Wealth Planning team, supporting the Wealth Planners and Investment/ Insurance/Annuity Specialists to deliver financial solutions to help meet client needs.

  • Assist Wealth Advisors in effectively illustrating proposed solutions to their clients and provide coaching on plan preparation. Answer Wealth Advisors’ questions on planning development, policies, procedures and inquiries on both Naviplan and MoneyGuide Pro applications output and input.

  • Support the financial planning process, by providing the following:

  • Assist Wealth Advisors and Wealth Planning Specialists with plan creation

  • Identify planning opportunities and make outbound calls to Wealth Advisors to assist them prior to plan implementation

  • Modelling and stress testing financial goals with Monte Carlo simulations

  • Creating what-if alternative solutions to meet financial goals

  • Submission of plan via Salesforce for Supervisory Principal review / approval

  • Management Reporting

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years relevant experience

  • CFP® preferred or working towards a CFP® designation

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, and Word)

  • Analytical and modeling skills / NaviPlan, MoneyGuide Pro and NumberCruncher experience preferred

  • Understanding of cash flow planning, investment planning, income tax planning, retirement planning, insurance planning, and estate planning

  • Must be a self-starter, problem solver and a goal-oriented team player

  • Required: US FINRA Registration: SIE; Series 7/66 (65 + 63)

    Must meet ALL US FINRA Registration requirement within 150 days of hire date.

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$78,990.00 - $110,210.00
