PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Senior Benefits Specialist (Wellness and Communications) is responsible for the comprehensive administration of the company's wellness programs, ensuring they align with the company's strategic goals. This includes managing on-site clinics, employee assistance programs, voluntary benefits, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and legal requirements. The role requires advanced expertise in benefits administration, vendor management, project management, and the ability to lead initiatives that promote employee wellness.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:        

  • Lead the day-to-day administration of the company’s wellness programs, ensuring they are compliant with program guidelines, regulatory, and legal requirements.
  • Oversee the administration of on-site clinic operations, including analytics and technical arrangements, to ensure seamless functionality.
  • Develop and implement innovative marketing strategies to promote wellness initiatives and engage employees across all levels.
  • Serve as the primary communications and marketing liaison between benefits workstreams, internal departments, and customers, providing strategic direction and support for benefit initiatives.
  • Manage and oversee benefit vendor relationships, including the initiation of new contracts and renewals, collaborating with legal to ensure compliance with contract parameters.
  • Lead day-to-day vendor interactions, reporting, tracking, and resolving escalated employee benefit issues with efficiency and professionalism.
  • Partner with the Benefit Broker on the strategic planning and administration of wellness programs, ensuring all programs meet compliance standards.
  • Lead the coordination of health fairs and biometric screenings across the organization, ensuring successful execution and employee participation.
  • Research and resolve complex issues within Workday for inbound and outbound third-party integration feeds promptly and accurately.
  • Manage and lead Employee Benefit Specialist educational calls, including coordinating agendas, call administration, and follow-up actions to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Lead and manage the Annual Open Enrollment event, including participating in testing and validating a successful employee experience in Workday.
  • Perform additional relevant duties as assigned, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives and operational needs.

EDUCATION and CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Health Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in benefits administration or a related field, with a focus on wellness programs.
  • Advanced knowledge of benefits administration and wellness program compliance.
  • Strong project management skills with a proven ability to lead large-scale initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems, specifically Workday.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts effectively.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional teams and projects.
  • Problem-Solving: Advanced proficiency in identifying issues and developing effective, innovative solutions.
  • Communication: Strong ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, with a focus on strategic alignment.
