Job Description Summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Physical Security Technologies Specialist to support the implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of physical security systems across its global footprint. This role manages technical security projects from design and installation through commissioning and handover, ensuring solutions are effective, compliant, and built for long-term operational sustainability.
The role plays a critical part in mitigating risk to GE Vernova’s people, assets, and operations by translating security requirements into practical, scalable system implementations aligned with enterprise standards and evolving threat landscapes.
Reporting to the Security Technology Solutions Leader, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across Properties, Digital Technology, EHS, Cyber, Regional Security, and Sourcing, as well as with external technology partners and integrators, to deliver cost-effective, forward-looking security solutions.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Execute and support the enterprise physical security technology strategy across GE Vernova locations globally.

  • Lead and support the deployment of new physical security technologies and the continuous improvement of existing systems and platforms.

  • Ensure physical security systems comply with applicable local, regional, and global regulatory and compliance requirements.

  • Support the digitization and modernization of security platforms including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, identity management, and AI-enabled analytics.

  • Apply AI and computer vision technologies responsibly to enhance detection, situational awareness, and operational efficiency while adhering to governance and privacy expectations.

  • Develop, maintain, and improve project, program, and operational management trackers, dashboards, and reporting tools.

  • Develop and maintain technical security documentation including standards, requirements, technical guidance, SOPs, and approved manufacturer lists in alignment with the GE Vernova EHSS Management System.

  • Serve as a technical Subject Matter Expert for physical security technologies, providing guidance and support to Regional Security Directors and site leadership.

  • Partner with Regional Security, Project Management, Digital Technology, and Sourcing to design security systems, identify gaps, and recommend site hardening and risk mitigation measures.

  • Represent GE Vernova Security in technical engagements with security OEMs, system integrators, and technology partners.

  • Support sourcing activities including technical evaluations, Master Service Agreement reviews, and supplier performance assessments.

  • Review project RFPs and conduct technical risk assessments to evaluate solution viability, scalability, and lifecycle risk.

  • Conduct technical vendor vetting and manufacturer approval processes aligned with enterprise standards and cybersecurity expectations.


Required Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent experience, or substantial professional experience in physical security systems deployment and management.

        

  • Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience executing physical security technology programs within large, complex, global organizations.

         

  • Demonstrated ability to self-manage priorities and drive performance in a fast-paced, globally distributed environment.

  • Proven experience designing, deploying, and supporting access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and related physical security systems.

         

  • Demonstrated experience working across multi-vendor and multi-technology security environments.

      

  • Strong technical troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving capabilities across security systems, IT, and networked environments.

          

  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals including secure system design, network segmentation, and identity management.

          

  • Experience working in cloud-based and enterprise IT environments, including system integrations and data flows.

          

  • Solid understanding of network technologies, architectures, and implementation practices relevant to security systems.

       

  • Demonstrated knowledge of global security systems regulations, standards, and compliance requirements.

        

  • Proven track record of delivering complex, multi-site, global projects within a matrixed organization.

         

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to establish credibility across all organizational levels.

        

  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 40% of the time.

        

  • Professional certifications such as Genetec, Milestone, Lenel, Axis, Avigilon, PSP, PMP, CISSP, CSPM, CompTIA+, ITIL, or equivalent are preferred.


Desired Characteristics

  • Experience applying analytics, automation, and workflow optimization to physical security or adjacent technical domains.

  • Hands-on experience with AI-enabled security technologies such as video analytics, computer vision, and automated alerting.

  • Familiarity with AI governance concepts including data quality, privacy, bias awareness, and ethical use of automated security systems.

  • Experience supporting or operating in OT/IT convergence environments or critical infrastructure settings.

  • Ability to independently identify emerging risks, technology gaps, or operational inefficiencies and recommend practical mitigations.

  • Experience organizing, coordinating, and influencing work across remote sites and cross-functional teams.

  • Exposure to vendor performance management and continuous improvement within global sourcing or procurement frameworks.

  • AutoCAD, Visio, or equivalent.

  • Project management experience
