The Team

The team within Trade Support is a dynamic team consisting of full-time employees in combination with talented Student Assistants adding flexibility in skills and working hours to the team. We are a diverse mixture of nationalities, personalities and expertise who work hard and form this strong high-performing team.

We very much take pride in enabling the trading engine to run smoothly and efficiently by bringing our best every day.

The Role

Your role as a Trading Operations Specialist requires you to thrive when you have to coordinate, prioritise and execute on a variety of complex tasks as you will work between trading and the rest of the organisation to optimise our daily operational work and implement new products and markets.

Market & systems knowledge, training and educating across the team, improving procedures to minimize risk and increase efficiency, coordinate with project stakeholders will be amongst your tasks and eventually your areas of expertise. This will be balanced against the daily procedures and problem solving with our Traders.

It’s a highly collaborative role where you will interact with many different teams daily. We work between trading and the rest of the organisation to optimise our work and implement new products and markets. We work closely together with our student workers on a daily basis, as they cover shifts or work on projects. In this role, you’ll be expected to occasionally cover shifts in the evenings or weekends, in case of exam periods, vacation etc. You will therefore need to have an analytic and structured approach to new market information, and you should be motivated by having to react quickly to sudden changes in the market conditions.

The competences you bring to the team should include a good sense for logic, numbers, and the ability to acquire new knowledge and having a proactive mindset. You should believe in continuous improvement. You have a strong ability to stay calm under pressure, and you are keen to be the best in everything you do. You are persistent in pursuing progress, and aware of when and how to nudge colleagues and stakeholders to ensure your deliverables.

Your Background & the Role Requirements

  • Hold a relevant MSc degree (Economics, Engineering, Mathematics or similar)

  • Ability to cooperate and communicate at all levels

  • Speak and ability to write in English - fluently

  • Experience in being able to work on and lead multiple projects in a self-motivated, flexible and autonomous manner

  • Able to link your personal and professional skills with these requirements and will add that together with your CV in your motivation letter

  • Know or be keen to understand the dynamics of trading, and the energy markets

  • Ability to balance your focus and day-to-day tasks, while progressing on long-term deliveries

  • Passion for improvement and knowledge sharing

  • Feel comfortable setting high demands to both colleagues, stakeholders and established procedures

  • Possess a positive “can do” attitude, balanced against strong discipline and willingness to challenge the quo

  • Be able to accept flexibility towards working hours

  • Show timeliness and precision in your work while having a natural sense of urgency

  • Be familiar and able to learn ETRM systems, or thrive when working with IT systems as a specialist and to give input for improvements

  • Take pride in discovering and eliminating operational risk w.r.t. people, systems, and markets
