Position Overview

The Senior Manager, People Operations plays a critical leadership role in ensuring organizational excellence across employment compliance, employee policies and procedures, HR systems, and employee support. This role supports a large, multi-site workforce and ensures adherence to federal, state, and local employment regulations across multiple jurisdictions.

Operating with a high level of autonomy, this leader partners cross-functionally to strengthen compliance infrastructure, enhance employee experience, and drive scalable people processes aligned with AmeriVet’s continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state (including multi-state operations), and local employment laws, proactively assessing regulatory impact

  • Lead the development, review, and governance of employee policies, procedures, and handbook documentation

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in employment compliance, providing guidance to leadership and HR teams

  • Partner with Legal, Payroll, IT, and field leadership to ensure alignment on compliance and operational execution

  • Support a large, multi-site workforce with consistent, scalable people operations processes

  • Utilize Workday to manage reporting, audits, documentation, compliance tracking, and process optimization

  • Conduct compliance risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies

  • Oversee and strengthen employee support frameworks to ensure a consistent and positive team member experience

  • Develop and deliver compliance training for managers and HR teams

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives that enhance people operations infrastructure as AmeriVet continues to grow

  • Monitor trends, identify gaps, and implement continuous improvement strategies

  • Support additional projects and initiatives as assigned

Education & Experience

  • Experience supporting a large, multi-site workforce

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.

  • At least six years of human resource management experience required, with strategic, talent management, and/or business development experience highly preferred

  • Strong background in employment compliance, policy development, and HR operations

  • Experience working in Workday or comparable HRIS systems

  • Proven ability to manage complex, multi-state compliance environments

  • Strong analytical, project management, and stakeholder partnership skills

  • Ability to thrive in a high-growth, evolving organization

  • Experience supporting a large, multi-site workforce

The physical requirements of this position are:

  • Office work and standing and walking during practice visits.

Travel

  • This role may require up to 5% domestic overnight travel.
