In 2021, Samsung announced a new facility in Taylor, Texas, where it plans to invest a minimum $17 billion in the build-out. The site spans 1,200+ acres and the first phase of development will have 4.7 million square feet of floor space consisting of a cluster of semiconductor manufacturing buildings such as a fab, office, parking garage, central utility building, and special utility supply facilities. The Taylor facility will boost the production of semiconductor solutions that will power next-generation technologies in areas like 5G, artificial intelligence (AI) and high performance computing.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Work on operation and maintenance of industrial control systems. Continuously improve automation and standardization for HVAC and Exhaust abatement processes. Lead contractors through program design, simulation, testing, and start-up of new equipment. Maintain all control equipment, servers, and operator workstations to ensure 100% uptime. Identify, develop and design control panels, improvements and upgrades to control systems for enhanced system functionality and reliability. Work with engineering system owners, as clients, to improve control of their systems or solve control issues. Report performance trends/issues to management and recommend solutions. Develop standard operating procedures and train Facilities Control personnel on all new systems. Define control system and instrumentation maintenance requirements and procedures. Assist multi discipline engineering team in to implement continuous alarm rationalization to ensure alarming is effective.  (Multiple Openings)

Skills and Qualifications:

Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum years of experience required

Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Requires completion of a graduate-level course, research project, or internship involving the following:                                                                                                                                       

1.         Siemens WinCC;
2.         Siemens TIA Portal;
3.         IEC 61131-3 Ladder Logic;
4.         Rockwell RS Studio/ Allen Bradley PLCs;
5.         Honeywell Experian DCS system;
6.         Siemens WinCC Open Architecture;
7.         Ignition HMI;
8.         Structured Text;
9.         Human Machine Interface Automation;
10.       Structured Query Language and Databases; and
11.       Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA).
