Job Summary:

Functions under the direction of the Chief Technologist or Manager. Performs all necessary duties as directed. Acts as a greeter making a positive first impression. Assists guests by providing directions, leading individuals to their destinations when necessary, and making sure all orders are obtained and accurate. Acts as a liaison among patients, family members, visitors and staff in assigned areas. Demonstrate knowledge and how to deal with age specific population. When dealing with patients, provides safe, age appropriate care. Coordinates schedules with orders and obtains orders from physicians' offices as needed in compliance with No Order/No Test. Responsible for performing a wide variety of procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative in the utilization of the equipment.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Customer Focus/Communication
- Works with physician office personnel in obtaining patient orders, ICD10 codes and information.
- Assists with obtaining corrected orders for timely patient exams, when needed.
- Provides privacy for patients/customers
- Able to use equipment to obtain and provide patient information.
- Uses AIDET.
- Utilizes appropriate telephone scripting with customers.
- Completes paperwork, including computer data entry.
- Assists in providing reports to physicians in a timely manner.
- Meets Service Recovery and Customer Service Guidelines as needed.
- Knows existing lines of communication and authority, handles communications properly and is dependable, cooperative and emotionally stable.
- Provides positive interaction with all departments and communicates patient delays and /or unscheduled work in patients.

- Able to work scheduled hours.
- Must be flexible with work hours to meet department needs.
- Answering incoming phone calls.
- Organizes maintained orders
- Helping to coordinate and monitor the flow of patients from registration through completion of exam.
- Files appropriate paperwork as needed.
- Receives and transmits fax orders and reports.
- Contacts patients to remind them of exam appointment date/time/location and to bring physician orders.
- Obtains orders from Centralized scheduling and identifies errors prior to patient arrival.
- Able to perform multiple tasks at once due to high patient volume.
- Able to answer multiple phone lines while greeting patients in department.
- Assist in other Medical Imaging areas and as needed in other departments in the system.
- Must be extremely customer service oriented.
- Provide directions for patients, customers, family members, etc.
- Works with staff and registration, understands appropriate scheduling processes.
- Able to schedule exams/procedures in EPIC as needed.
- Understands imaging procedures and patient preps.
- Understands the order of imaging when multiple tests are ordered for same day.
- Understands which procedures/exams require precertification or medical necessity checks.
- Assists in calling schedulers to reschedule appointments when necessary.
- Assists with verifying lab, cardiology, respiratory orders, site/department specific.

Required Minimum Education:

High school diploma Required and
Associate's Degree Preferred

    Required Minimum Experience:

    Minimum 2 years working within a healthcare or hospitality environment. Required

    Required Minimum Skills:

    High energy level. Prefer training with computers, medical terminology or customer service
    Must possess the following skills: Excellent Communication skills, Organizational skills, Decision-Making/Problem solving skills and Stress management.
    The individual must be able to communicate and understand verbal and written English language and display a positive attitude (see WellStars Standards of Gold).
