The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos currently is currently pursuing anew opportunity that has openings for an Operations Engineer to work in Multiple Locations. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Enterprise Development, Application, and Training (EDAT) mission. In this mission we are focused on providing innovative, data-driven solutions and enterprise architecture enhancements to enable seamless operations across USSOCOM's global network. The program emphasizes rapid development and deployment of technologies to enhance the mobility and readiness of

Special Operations Forces (SOF) in both combat and non-combat scenarios. Key tasks include program management, application development, training support, and technology integration to maintain USSOCOM's operational edge. The

EDAT program underscores agility and adaptability, ensuring SOF professionals have access to the information and tools they need to meet evolving mission requirements.

These positions will be onsite. Candidates need to be located near Tampa, FL, San Diego, CA, or Fayetteville, NC to be

considered.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the adoption and integration of DevSecOps practices across the EDAT program to ensure secure, automated, and efficient software development and delivery.

  • Collaborate with development, IT, and security teams to integrate security controls and standards into every stage of the software development lifecycle.

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines, automating testing, deployment, and monitoring processes to improve the speed and reliability of software delivery

  • Ensure that pipelines align with program goals, DoD standards, and USSOCOM mission requirements.

  • Implement and manage security controls to protect applications and systems within classified environments.

  • Ensure compliance with DoD security frameworks, including DISA STIG, NIST 800-53, and Zero Trust principles, throughout the development lifecycle.

  • Monitor the performance, reliability, and security of systems and applications, identifying and resolving issues to ensure uninterrupted operations.

  • Conduct root cause analysis and provide solutions for incidents and performance bottlenecks.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to implement best practices in DevSecOps, ensuring alignment with project objectives.

  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging tools to recommend and integrate enhancements to DevSecOps processes.

  • Provide technical support and mentorship to development teams, ensuring efficient and secure software delivery practices.

  • Assist in onboarding and training team members on DevSecOps tools, methodologies, and security standards

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Additional training and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

  • Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or Red Hat Certified Specialist in DevOps may be considered.

  • 4-7 years of experience in DevSecOps, system operations, or related roles.

  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing CI/CD pipelines in enterprise or government environments.

  • Proficiency with DevSecOps tools and technologies, such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Prometheus).

  • Strong understanding of automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).

  • Must possess a Top Secret (TS) clearance

  • Familiarity with DoD security standards, including DISA STIG, NIST 800-53, and RMF.

  • Experience embedding security controls and measures into automated processes.

  • Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams to implement secure and efficient workflows.

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills to resolve operational and security issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Security certifications like CISSP, CompTIA Security+, or CEH

  • Familiarity with USSOCOM’s mission requirements and the SOF Information Environment (SIE).

  • Prior experience supporting DoD programs with strict compliance and operational standards.

  • Experience integrating advanced DevSecOps practices into large-scale, secure environments.

  • Proficiency in deploying containerized applications and managing cloud-based or hybrid environments.

  • Knowledge of cutting-edge tools and trends in DevSecOps, such as serverless architectures, AI-driven monitoring, or advanced security automation.

  • Experience recommending and implementing innovative tools to enhance DevSecOps pipelines.

  • Strong ability to convey complex technical concepts to team members and stakeholders.

  • Experience developing and delivering training materials or workshops on DevSecOps practices and tools.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $81,250.00 - $146,875.00
