Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Indigenous Engagement (ODVCIE)
This is a part-time (29 hours per week), continuing position with FTE salary in the range $98,582.63 - $107,349.47 (HEW 7), plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%.

Based at our St Lucia campus
This position is responsible for coordinating and supporting a variety of engagement, communication, events, and marketing activities within the Indigenous Engagement Division. The successful candidate will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective marketing and communications across the division. They will also work closely with UQ's Marketing and Communications Division to promote greater coordination in Indigenous Engagement efforts. The role involves managing the development and implementation of branding messages that align with UQ's promotional expectations, ensuring a professional and targeted approach to engaging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and stakeholders.
Key responsibilities will include:
Strategic Communication Planning: Lead the development and implementation of communication plans aligned with the ODVCIE external engagement strategy, targeting key priority audiences.
Content Creation and Promotion: Develop original content on key topics for UQ and ODVCIE, and proactively promote ODVCIE and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies Unit (ATSISU) content across various channels.
Expert Advice and Support: Provide expert advice and support to ODVCIE and ATSISU staff and students, assisting leaders in developing and releasing impactful content. Facilitate ODVCIE's contribution to shaping the future through thought leadership and policy debate.
Channel Management and Collaboration: Manage and coordinate communication and engagement activities across various channels, ensuring consistent messaging. Collaborate with UQ Marketing and Communication to support enterprise communication campaigns. Develop and maintain relationships with relevant UQ organizational units.
Relevant degree and extensive experience in marketing and communication, with demonstrated experience in delivering professional services within the university sector or a similar environment.
Excellent written and interpersonal skills, with the ability to create engaging content.
Strong computer skills in website content management systems, communication platforms, and Adobe Creative Suite.
Experience in analysing results and reporting on promotional campaigns.
Expert knowledge of social media platforms and UQ Brand and communication policies.
Demonstrated knowledge and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and identities.
Ability to obtain a Queensland Blue Card and work with vulnerable people in accordance with relevant legislation.
You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment and may be required to complete background checks including, criminal history and education checks.
