Are you looking for new challenges in a fast-paced environment where not two days are the same? In one of the biggest Enzyme Fermentation plants in the world we are expanding our Process Support Team with yet another skilled and dedicated Process Engineer.

Welcome to Fermentation KAL

The fermentation process is the first step in production of enzymes for a large portfolio of industries

including Food, Feed, Household Care, Biodiesel, Textile, Health Care etc. The fermentation plant in Kalundborg is the biggest Enzyme Fermentation Plant in Novonesis and is the plant where most new products and technologies are introduced due to its multifunctional equipment capabilities.

In the department there are 62 dedicated employees that daily ensures that the production is running smooth. You will be a part a dedicated and skilled process support team with 3 production engineers, 1 support technician, and 1 Industry master student. Furthermore, a very skilled fermentation specialist is also supporting this team.

In this position the main work area and responsibilities will be:

  • Process and product responsibility including daily supervision to meet business targets for quality, economy, and regulatory requirements.

  • Raw material and chemical knowledge and responsibility.

  • Drive the scientific work to ensure compliance with GMP standards.

  • High quality systematic problem solving of production problems and continued improvements.

  • Optimization activities by analyzing data to further improve our production processes and secure future capacity and output.

  • Reach out to and collaborate with internal and external colleagues and partners to make sure we remain a center of excellency for enzyme fermentation in Novonesis.



Potentially relevant experience:

  • Have an educational background as B. Sc. or M.Sc. within Chemical engineering, Biochemical engineering, Food Technology or similar.

  • Be excellent in written and oral communication skills in Danish and English

  • Be a quick learner and able to communicate complex problems to colleagues and stakeholders with different insights into fermentation technology and processes.

  • Have good analytical skills and skills within digitalization.

  • Be able to combine scientific talent with practical skills and be as comfortable solving short-term problems as optimizing processes to improve long-term productivity.

  • Have a high degree of personal drive and the ability to overcome unforeseen barriers and create results.

  • Be a team-player who contributes proactively and understands the importance of successful collaborations.

  • Be capable of taking the role as informal leader for operators in daily decision making.
