Title: Machinist

Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will operate, maintain, and troubleshoot a range of machining equipment to produce high-quality parts and components according to specifications. This role requires precision, technical knowledge, and a commitment to safety. As a Machinist, you will work closely with engineering. operations, and quality assurance teams to ensure that all parts meet the highest standards.

Expectations:

  • Set up and Operate Equipment: Operate lathes, milling machines, grinders, and other machinery to manufacture precision parts.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to understand the dimensions and tolerances of the workpieces.
  • Quality Control: Inspect and measure finished products using precision tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on machines and troubleshoot mechanical issues to ensure efficient operations.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and wear protective gear to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other machinists, engineers, and team members to refine designs and improve production processes.
  • Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of machining operations, materials used, and any adjustments made to the machines.
  • Work collaboratively within an engineering team of mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineers to design new products and upkeep existing product lines.
  • Clearly communicate and collaborate with various members of the purchasing team to assist in sourcing manufacturing components.
  • Other duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training in machining or related field preferred.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience as a Machinist, preferably with CNC equipment.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in operating various types of machinery, including manual and CNC machines.
    • Skilled in using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
    • Knowledge of G-code and CAD/CAM software is a plus.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to produce work that meets precise specifications and standards.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and adjust machinery as needed to ensure high-quality output.
  • Physical Stamina: Capable of standing for long periods, lifting heavy materials, and working in a workshop environment.
