Job purpose:

As a member of this fast-pace, complex and dynamic region, this individual will be the key point of contact and responsible to support the affiliates in the following processes according the predefined SOPs and SLAs.

This position will be based in Egypt, reporting to Finance Manager within MEA Finance hub, responsible for F&A activities across Middle East & Africa countries.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating the provision of timely and accurate information to external consultants for tax filings in MEA countries, including withholding tax (WHT), value-added tax (VAT), and corporate income tax (CIT)
  • Support in yearly external audit cycle by ensuring timely provision of information to auditors for conducting external audit
  • Research and resolve routine internal and external inquiries concerning accounts payable (P2P) and internal invoice tracking tool (S2P tool) across Middle East & Africa Countries (MEA) including communicating the resolution of discrepancies to appropriate persons in a time bound manner
  • Preparation of periodic summary reports to track KPIs for S2P process and helping to define action points to resolve issues
  • Managing timely vendor invoice payment processing for Dubai HQ and Turkey Liaison Office 
  • Managing financial review of payment control process (internal control process) across MEA by central coordination and review of control on periodic basis
  • Manage monthly Business Travel Account (BTA) reconciliation for the countries across MEA
  • Driving the compliance process for travel and expense (T&E) across the MEA region, working centrally to ensure adherence to policies and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance to internal and external policies, regulations and laws applicable to the function
  • Response to ad-hoc P2P, T&E, BTA, tax and audit related queries from internal/external entities

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required or ACCA or CA or CPA or an undergraduate degree in science/engineering with an MBA (finance emphasis) also acceptable
  • Robust understanding of purchase to payable, statutory compliance and financial reporting process
  • 3 + years of finance / accounting experience
  • Technical finance skills required (accounting, audit, internal controls, purchase to payable process etc.)
  • Good general business knowledge (e.g., industry, finance, applicable laws, tax, insurances)
  • Excellent knowledge of financial systems and tools (SAP, Hyperion, etc.)
  • Fluent in English, in oral and written communication

Preferred Requirements:

  • Demonstrated excellence of technical knowledge of accountancy (US GAAP and local country accounting principles), relevant laws, local taxes, and detailed accounting processes & procedures to support business operations at the local affiliate level in relevant countries
  • Experience in managing purchase to payable and vendor reconciliation process
  • Excellent Excel / PowerPoint skills
  • Statutory reporting and tax filing experience for Middle East countries will be a plus
  • Detail oriented; strong business analytical skills
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills including familiarity with finance and accounting terms
  • Proven ability to work effectively in in ambiguous situations and team environment
  • Natural drive for process improvement & resource optimization
  • Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to influence people across functions and levels
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Bachelor of Finance/Commerce or ACCA or CPA or MBA (Finance) or CA
  • Pharmaceutical/Biotech experience
