Northrop Grumman Insights & Intelligence (i2) is seeking a manager to lead People Analytics for Northrop Grumman’s Defense Systems sector (NGDS). This position reports to the Director, People AI & Analytics, with a dotted line to the Defense Systems HR Vice President. This role will sit in our Falls Church, VA location but we may also consider a hybrid or teleworker arrangement for this position.
At Northrop Grumman, People AI & Analytics is a core domain within our Insights & Intelligence (i2) organization. As part of our Chief Information & Digital Office (CIDO), i2 works with all enterprise domains and businesses to drive our data, analytics & AI transformation.
As the lead of NGDS People Analytics, you will be responsible for leveraging the entire range of our analytics capabilities to refine and enable the Defense Systems sector people strategy. In these efforts, you will help HR leaders and the business make informed decisions across multiple areas of human capital including, but not limited to: talent acquisition, culture, talent management, compensation and retention.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Serving on the Defense Systems Sector HR leadership team to optimize the use of analytics in driving the sector people strategy
Serving on the People AI & Analytics leadership team to bring sector specific business needs forward to inform our enterprise people analytics strategy
Leading the Sector team of analysts and data scientists
Conducting strategic analyses and research needed to enable Defense Systems Sector human capital objectives
Integrating, tailoring, and applying corporate analytics capability for the benefit of the sector
Identifying and articulating team priorities based on business needs
Communicating results to an executive audience to effectively tell the data story

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Basic Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience – OR – a Master’s degree with 6 years of relevant experience – OR – a PhD with 4 years of relevant experience.
Deep curiosity and a willingness to pull the thread on difficult questions.
Understanding of (or interest in) HR domain areas and metrics (such as talent acquisition, compensation, performance, learning and development, and HR metrics).
Demonstrated experience using analytics to inform decision making.
Experience in executive data storytelling, building compelling and concise presentations to communicate insights.
Ability to extract and manipulate data from databases (e.g., SQL).
Ability to use programming languages (e.g., R, Python) to conduct statistical analyses.
Proficient in data visualization using Tableau or similar visualization tool(s).
Experience collaborating on projects with multiple teams.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated people leadership skills in an analytics capacity.
Degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Math, Physics, Engineering, Statistics, Economics).
Solid statistical understanding and exposure to more advanced analytics, such as machine learning.
Knowledge of the aerospace industry.
