Venture Global LNG (“Venture Global”) is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. We are seeking a leader to join us as a Manager, Piping and Instrumentation Diagram. The Manager, Piping and Instrumentation Diagram is responsible for interpreting and creating Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), which are detailed engineering drawings that visually represent the layout of a process system, including piping, equipment, and instrumentation within an industrial facility; essentially, they are experts in understanding the intricate details and symbols used on P&IDs, allowing them to analyze process flow, identify potential issues, and ensure accurate design and operation of the system. 

Responsibilities:

Deep understanding of process engineering:

• Strong grasp of process flow, fluid dynamics, and the different types of equipment used in various industries. 

 Proficient in P&ID symbols and standards:

• Accurately interpret and utilize the standardized symbols used on P&IDs, including those related to valves, pumps, instruments, and safety devices. 

 Experience in design and review:

• Review P&IDs for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with engineering standards, identifying potential design flaws or safety concerns. 

 Knowledge of relevant software:

• Familiarity with P&ID design software like SmartPlant P&ID or AutoCAD is often required. 

Roles where a P&ID SME might be involved:

 Project engineering teams:

• Contribute to the development and review of P&IDs during the design phase of a project. 

Operations and maintenance teams:

• Analyze P&IDs to troubleshoot issues, plan maintenance activities, and understand system modifications. 

 Quality assurance teams:

• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal procedures related to P&ID documentation. 

 Training and development:

• Provide training to engineers and technicians on how to read and interpret P&IDs effectively.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree in science or relative field
• 5 or more years of experience as a SPPID Project Drafting Lead
• Experience as a CAD Manager preferred
• Good knowledge of P&ID design software like SmartPlant P&ID or AutoCAD 
• PID/PFD drafting experience required
• Able to commute to Downton Houston office Monday - Friday
