This position is responsible for creating production schedules that allow efficient time for orders to be produced, meeting all ship dates and maintaining work-load balance throughout all shifts. The Production Planner is accountable for managing the customer orders after they are received and processed by customer service. The prime focus of this role is to effectively allocate customer orders to a manufacturing process within the offered capability of the process to successfully achieve the on-time delivery of the customer order.
This is accomplished through:
· Managing the workload of each manufacturing process within clearly agreed shift capabilities.
· Planning and scheduling the pre and post processing of materials to meet the above noted capabilities of each process line.
· Developing systems and processes for reliable and smooth service delivery in consultation with manufacturing manager, manufacturing leads and process line operators.
· High level interaction and collaboration between manufacturing, planning, customer service, and supply chain to ensure up and down stream needs are scheduled and followed through.
This is a hands-on role with the Production Planner working actively with the manufacturing, customer service, and procurement teams to achieve outcomes detailed.
Duties to include:
Education & Experience Qualifications
Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree or at least 3 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of degree plus the 2 years of Production Planning experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated experience communicating across departments and taking initiative to production challenges.
Experience with ERP system (SAP strongly preferred)
Preferred:
5+ years of experience Production Planning in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Experience in construction environment
Knowledge of ASC Profiles Products – Division Specific
Experience in supply chain role
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
