Clinical Trial Coordinator – RN
Full time, fixed term 12 month position

About the role
You will be working in a dedicated clinical trial team and be responsible for managing cardiothoracic and surgical oncology research projects. This involves coordinating all aspects of the clinical trial, liaising with other departments within the hospital and with external parties. The role also involves providing all protocol related nursing requirements and ensuring we contribute to best practice research and patient care.
Duties include:
Knowledge and implementation of clinical and organisational requirements for research activities
Patient Care - Provide excellent patient care throughout the duration of the clinical trial
Information Management - all documentation, information and data management utilises the best technology available. All data and documentation managed to ensure confidentiality, legislative requirements and Good Clinical Research Practice are met.
The classification for this position is Research Nurse Level 2 YU13 ($102,278).
Please note: This clinical trial position involves working with a live virus. Due to licence conditions governing the trial, excluded personnel cannot work on the trial. Excluded personnel includes those who are pregnant, breast-feeding, have active on-going infections or history of severe skin disease. Your Contribution
Qualified Registered Nurse with current registration
Qualifications and/or experience working in clinical trials – preferred
Additional qualifications in allied fields (data management, IT, communications etc.) – highly regarded

About the Department
The Cardiothoracic Research Department undertakes are broad range of both cardiac, thoracic and surgical oncology research projects, including national and international investigator lead trails, surgical comparative trials, device trials and drug trials.
