The Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) serves as a key financial partner to Program Managers, Technical Leads, and senior leadership. This role is responsible for compiling, analyzing, and interpreting financial data to drive business performance and strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical skills, business acumen, and defense industry experience to provide actionable insights and ensure financial integrity across programs.

Candidates must be eligible to obtain the relevant security clearance required for the role, due to the nature of the programmes we deliver for our customers.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly forecasting reviews, including orders, sales, operating income, and cash flow performance.

  • Generate and present comprehensive financial reporting packages; advise program managers and technical leads on contract financial performance and variance analysis.

  • Conduct month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and cost reconciliations.

  • Develop and maintain detailed monthly forecasts for program revenue and costs.

  • Drive regular reviews of key financial metrics with program and finance teams to ensure accountability and transparency.

  • Implement, monitor, and analyze program budgets and schedules, identifying opportunities for process and cost improvements.

  • Consolidate and organize cost and schedule data for internal monthly program reviews and executive presentations.

  • Participate in internal and external financial/schedule meetings, providing clear and concise updates on program performance.

  • Foster strong cross-functional relationships to enhance collaboration, information sharing, and problem-solving.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 7 years in accounting, finance, or related functions.

  • Minimum 1 year of people leadership experience

  • Proven experience in financial analysis, forecasting, and performance management.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship required).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in the defense industry

  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to execute tactically and deliver results across multiple organizational functions without direct authority.

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to identify risks, model financial impacts, and recommend actionable solutions.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills—able to convey complex financial concepts clearly to diverse audiences.

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with financial systems and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word).

  • Demonstrated leadership capability with experience managing initiatives in fast-paced, matrixed environments.

  • Proven ability to collaborate across geographically dispersed teams to achieve common financial goals.
