Job Description

As a CAD DRAFTER, you will support engineering projects by utilizing skills in AutoCAD as well as the ability to draft in Isometric planes.

Job Duties

  • Executes drafting work in AutoCAD to meet high quality standards and efficiency metrics
  • Maintains professional, positive relationships with team members
  • Effectively utilizes entire workday, completing assigned tasks and seeks out additional ways to contribute
  • Perform drawing maintenance including: updates, revisions, and development of as-built record documents
  • Assist with laser scanning of facilities and preparation of data to produce customer deliverables
  • Creation of field sketches and/or redlines to close out piping gaps

Required Qualifications/Skills/Competencies

  • 2-5 years of daily experience using AutoCAD 2020 or newer to prepare technical drawings
  • Associate Degree in Computer Aided Drafting and Design and or 3-5 years experience in process facilities
  • Ability to draft in Isometric planes while visualizing piping and pressure vessels
  • Experience using LISP routines to place blocks and modify block attribute data
  • Knowledge and ability to work with MS Office Suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to recreate isometrics and pressure vessels from as-built, construction drawings, field sketches, and 3D scan data
  • Knowledge of drafting standards for piping systems and the components associated with oil and gas, or mechanical environments
  • Use of basic Windows operations and file management
  • General understanding and ability to read P&IDs
  • Refinery or piping experience
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent interpersonal, professional, and technical communication skills while working in a team atmosphere

Working Environment  

  • Conditions may include working inside and/or outside.  May work around office machinery with moving parts and moving objects.  Working near radiant and electrical energy.  Working closely with others or working alone.  Working extended or irregular hours and travelling by all possible modes of transportation.

Physical Job Requirements

  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, push, stoop, reach above the shoulder, grasp, pull, bend repeatedly, climb stairs, identify colors, hear with aid, see, write, count, read, speak, analyze, lift and carry under 30 lbs., and perceive depth.

Tools and PPE Requirements

  • Equipment (machines, tools, devices) used in performing the essential job function include but not limited to computers and related equipment, calculators, copiers, fax machines, and telephone.
