Job Description
THE ROLE:
The Oshkosh Engineering Rotational program is designed for engineers to gain, develop, and use skills and experiences needed to be successful within the Oshkosh Product Development Team. For a period of two years, the Rotational Engineer will participate in six four-month assignments in key departments within Oshkosh (Platform Design, Core Technology Design, Resident/Manufacturing Engineering, Test and Development, and two elective assignments). The program is designed to provide individuals with the chance to learn how each department functions within the business and positively contribute to projects. At the completion of the program the rotational engineer will select a permanent assignment.
YOUR IMPACT:
Become familiar with enterprise resource planning (ERP) software and understand how it is used in different functional areas.
Understand what systems are available for production support, how to use them, and how design engineering supports them.
Gain experience on multiple product lines and multiple segments
Become proficient in public speaking including delivering presentations to engineering leadership summarizing each rotation assignment
Develop a project schedule and provide status reports to management
Provide guidance in the creation of engineering drawings, engineering changes request/notices, design reviews and creation of CATIA/CREO files
Interact with vendors to select and develop components Understand and perform tolerance stack ups
Develop cost estimates for component and assembly design concepts
Participate in the development of a physical prototype
Research and resolve test and warranty issues
Develop basic understand of domestic and international competition
Research and resolve build issues, CIRs and manufacturing/supplier quality issues
Develop a basic understanding of PPAP process
Interact with production staff
Develop basic capabilities within ProPlanner Develop
Basic capabilities within EMS NG IETMs and Schematics Review design and apply engineering concepts and calculations to determine best test method
Gather and analyze test data to provide test feedback and design recommendations
Generate an Engineering Test Report Perform basic mechanical repairs and modifications associated with tests
Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERTISE:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Software or related engineering field.
Internship experience or 6-plus months related work experience
STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous internship experience
Strong verbal presentation and written communication skills
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Experience with a high-level cad system
Pay Range:
$63,500.00 - $101,700.00The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
