Job Title: Sr. Coordinator, Capital Planning

Reports to: Director of Project Management & Strategic Planning

It is a very exciting time to be in Loblaw Real Estate as we continue to build strong momentum around our Real Estate portfolio and capital projects.

We are seeking a dedicated and detail oriented LRE Capital Planning Analyst to coordinate the capital planning process for Loblaw Real Estate, reporting directly to the Director of Project Management and Strategic Planning. This role is responsible for coordinating the various stages of capital projects, ensuring alignment across all teams, and delivering high-quality project execution that aligns with business goals. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in optimizing our capital processes, providing visibility and accountability across departments, and ensuring effective collaboration among stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Capital Process Management:

  • Coordinate the capital process lifecycle, including Project Introduction, Real Estate Investment Process (RIP), New Store Alignment (NSA), Forecast Review, Pre-Capital, Capital Commitment, and Project Sign-Off.
  • Develop and maintain a structured timeline for each stage, ensuring all key milestones are met on schedule.

Stakeholder Coordination and Communication:

  • Act as the primary liaison between internal teams (Real Estate, Finance, Construction, Operations) and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitate communication and alignment across all phases of the capital process, ensuring everyone is informed and understands their responsibilities.
  • Provide updates to stakeholders, ensuring the status of each project phase is clear and actionable.

Data Management and Tracking:

  • Maintain and regularly update the LRE Master Tracker to ensure all project information is accurate and current.
  • Consolidate data from various sources (e.g., SAP, Tango, OfficeTrax, Excel) into unified reports that provide a holistic view of project progress.
  • Analyze key data points to provide insights that support decision-making.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports on project status, performance metrics, and capital expenditure for review by senior leadership.
  • Use data analytics to highlight trends, identify risks, and recommend improvements in the capital planning process.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve existing processes, enhancing efficiency and accountability within the capital planning framework.
  • Develop and implement new processes for managing project-related tasks, tracking milestones, and reporting progress.

Documentation and Compliance:

  • Ensure all project documentation, approvals, and signoffs are correctly filed and easily accessible via DocuSign.
  • Monitor compliance with established capital guidelines and procedures throughout all project phases.

Team Support:

  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to drive project discussions, solve issues, and ensure progress is on track.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, ensuring they understand their roles within the capital planning process.

Role Requirements

  • University or college degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate or an equivalent degree in a related field of study
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, with experience using data visualization tools such as Power BI.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive alignment across departments.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements.
